The Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) and the Automotive Skills Development Council – India (ASDC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch courses in Fundamentals of Electric Vehicle Battery Pack Design and Fundamentals of Electric Vehicle Powertrain Design.
These courses are expected to contribute to the induction of trained EV technicians, who are in high demand due to the skill gap, and are accredited under the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF) as the National Occupational Standards (NOS).
The MoU was signed by Dr. Reji Mathai, Director of ARAI, and Mr. Arindam Lahiri, CEO of ASDC, in the presence of Mr. Vijay Pankhawala, Senior Deputy Director of ARAI, Mrs. Medha Jambhale, Senior Deputy Director of ARAI, and other top officials.
According to ARAI officials, courses certified by the NSQF and NOS provide industry-recognized, skill-oriented training that improves employability and promotes career advancement. They are created within a structured framework that emphasizes practical, outcome-based learning tailored to industry needs.
The ARAI Academy has NSQF-certified trainers and cutting-edge laboratories for hands-on learning, including the Electric Vehicle & Hybrid Electric Vehicle Lab, Automotive Engineering System Lab, Automotive Electronics & Embedded System Lab, and Computer Aided Engineering & Design Lab, among others, to deliver electric vehicle courses, according to top officials at the testing agency.
