Philips Launches First Affordable 5G Smartphone in India with 5700mAh Battery, 64MP Camera, Spreadtrum T765 Chipset

Philips has officially entered India’s smartphone market with the launch of the Philips S7221 5G. The new smartphone arrives with features including a 120Hz display, dual 5G SIM support, a 64-megapixel rear camera and a 5,700mAh battery. The handset is aimed at the competitive mid-range segment and is available in two RAM and storage configurations.

The launch comes shortly after Fire-Boltt expanded into the smartphone market with its Boltt Ace 5G and Boltt Evo smartphones.

Philips S7221 5G Price in India and Availability

The Philips S7221 5G price in India starts at Rs 20,499 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. The higher-end 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model is priced at Rs 22,499.

The smartphone is available to purchase through Amazon in Black, Blue and Grey colour options.

Philips S7221 5G Specifications and Features

The Philips S7221 5G features a 6.67-inch HD LCD display with a resolution of 720 × 1,600 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by an octa-core Spreadtrum T765 chipset, paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The handset runs Android 16 out of the box.

For photography, the Philips S7221 5G gets a 64-megapixel rear camera with a dedicated flash, while a 16-megapixel camera handles selfies and video calls. Camera features include AI scene optimisation and a portrait mode.

The smartphone also features dual stereo speakers with an Ultra Max mode designed to deliver louder audio output.

The handset packs a 5,700mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging. Philips is also bundling a charger in the box, along with a screen protector and protective phone case.

Connectivity options include dual nano-SIM support, 5G, Wi-Fi, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, Bluetooth and USB Type-C. The smartphone carries an IP64 rating for protection against dust and water splashes, while a side-mounted fingerprint sensor provides biometric security.

The Philips S7221 5G measures 166 × 77 × 8.95mm and weighs around 200 grams.
