Stealth games were a dime a dozen in the early 2000s. While the initial trailer for Assassin’s Creed looked promising, largely because of its impressive parkour, it wasn’t anything spectacular. That is, until the big twist reveals that the game took place in the present day, with missions being based on time travel through genetics.
Since the first game debuted in 2007, Assassin’s Creed has blown up as a franchise. The second game is truly where the rabid fanbase really started to crop up, and things haven’t really slowed down since then. Companies were hungry to create crossover events with Ubisoft, mostly in the form of exchanged costumes or skins, to capitalize on the series’ popularity. There have been a lot of crossover events with Assassin’s Creed, but these examples stand out the most.
Astro Bot
A New Update For 2025
Astro Bot launched in 2024, but it has been getting a steady stream of free updates with new challenge levels ever since. Also, each update typically comes with at least one new crossover robot character, and an earlier one in 2025 included Ezio from Assassin’s Creed 2.
Once rescued, players can unlock a diorama showcasing this bot jumping into a bale of hay. It’s not the most interactive crossover for the Assassin’s Creed series, but it is adorable to see all the crossover characters appear in Astro Bot’s hub world as more adorable robot versions of themselves.
Brawlhalla
A Free Smash Clone
There have been a lot of Super Smash Bros. clones over the years, which are now referred to as “Platform Fighting Games.” Among the many high-profile clones like PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, there were smaller ones like Brawlhalla, which quietly grew their own dedicated fan bases. Brawlhalla launched in 2017 with original characters, but once Ubisoft bought into the game, it became a crossover platform as well.
In 2022, Ezio from Assassin’s Creed 2 was added and had a full moveset. His stealth skills weren’t fully put to the test, but Ezio was still fun to play in a platform fighter like Brawlhalla. Other crossover characters include Rayman from his titular series, Finn from Adventure Time, and Tiny Tina from Borderlands 2.
Final Fantasy 15
I Love Assassin’s Creed!
The Final Fantasy series has had two major crossover events with Assassin’s Creed. First, DLC costumes could be purchased in Final Fantasy 13-2, which didn’t add much to the gameplay beyond some visual flair. Bigger than that was the Assassin’s Festival in Final Fantasy 15, wherein characters would confess their love of the Assassin’s Creed series, sort of breaking the fourth wall in the process.
This limited event turned the town of Lestallum into festival grounds where players could sneak around or participate in mini-games. It was bizarre, but Assassin’s Creed Origins got the cooler deal, as Bayek could unlock Final Fantasy gear, ride a Chocobo-like mount, and even meet characters like Ardyn throughout Egypt.
Fortnite
The Ultimate Crossover Platform
Fortnite started as a simple dream of cooperatively saving the world from hordes of enemies with friends. That then morphed into a Battle Royale event, and now Fortnite is synonymous with the word “crossover” thanks to that mode’s success. If a game or movie isn’t in Fortnite yet, it will be, and Assassin’s Creed is no exception.
Ezio’s Skin from Assassin’s Creed 2 was added to Fortnite in 2022. Along with that cosmetic, both versions of Eivor from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla got Skins in 2022. It seems weird to shoot enemies with guns while playing as any of these Assassin’s Creed characters, but that only adds to the game’s weird charm.
Monster Hunter World
Become A Stealthy Hunter
Compared to Monster Hunter Wilds, Monster Hunter World was stuffed with collaboration events with other big franchises, including Mega Man, Horizon Zero Dawn, Final Fantasy, and even Assassin’s Creed. Specifically, players could unlock content from Assassin’s Creed Origins, including two costume pieces.
Players’ full hunter armor set could cosmetically look like Bayek’s robes from Origins, but players could also craft a hood that boosts stats like speed or sneak attacks. Unlike with Final Fantasy 15’s crossover, Assassin’s Creed Origins got nothing in return from Monster Hunter World.
Soulcalibur 5
Choose Your Fighter
The Soulcalibur series is infamous for including crossover characters that don’t always make a lot of sense. For example, Yoda and Darth Vader from the Star Wars series appeared in Soulcalibur 4, depending on the platform chosen. Soulcalibur 5 had less of a wacky crossover in the form of Ezio from Assassin’s Creed 2.
Soulcalibur is a fighting game series wherein characters use weapons, and while Ezio’s hidden blades are indeed weapons, they don’t have the reach of some other characters like Nightmare and his giant sword. That’s why Ezio played more like a melee fighter; not bad, but not a character who everyone used in tournaments, either.
Toy Soldiers: War Chest
Control An Army Of Ezios
Toy Soldiers: War Chest is an action RTS game with a novel concept: What if the toys left in the backyard all became sentient and fought battles? It’s not an original idea, as it had been done even before Toy Story popularized it, but it’s a good idea for a video game regardless.
Assassin’s Creed appeared in a Toy Soldiers DLC pack featuring Ezio, where players could send out multiple copies of the legendary assassin to build and defend bases. It’s definitely one of the wilder Ezio appearances in video games. Other notable Toy Soldiers crossover franchises include G.I. Joe and He-Man, which feel a bit more fitting to the whole toy box aesthetic.
