Samsung’s next-generation mid-range smartphones could bring a much-needed improvement in battery life. According to a Notebook Check report originally attributed to GalaxyClub, the upcoming Galaxy A38 may feature a 6,000mAh battery. On the other hand, the Galaxy A58 has reportedly appeared in a certification listing with support for 45W wired charging.

Galaxy A38 may bring major battery upgrades
As mentioned already, the Samsung Galaxy A38 might come with a 6,000mAh battery, which is a huge upgrade over its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy A37.
For context, the Galaxy A37 has a 5,000mAh battery. So, if the rumour turns out to be true, the Galaxy A38 could come with a 20% increase in battery capacity. This ultimately could mean longer usage between charges.
Now, even though the battery upgrade sounds promising, Samsung may not be changing much else. Earlier reports suggested that the Galaxy A38 would retain the same camera setup as the Galaxy A37.
This could include a 50-megapixel primary rear camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 5-megapixel macro sensor. The front camera is also tipped to remain a 12-megapixel unit. If these details are accurate, Samsung would be using the same camera combination for a third generation, following the Galaxy A36 and Galaxy A37.
There is also a leak suggesting that the Galaxy A38 could receive a display downgrade. According to SammyGuru, Samsung may replace the A37’s OLED panel with a display similar to the one used on the Galaxy A27. The reported panel could have lower peak brightness and lack HDR10+ support. This detail has not been confirmed, so it is worth treating it cautiously.
Galaxy A58 could support 45W charging
In other news, the Galaxy A58 may also receive battery-related improvements. Tipster ZionsAnvin reportedly spotted the Galaxy A58 5G in a certification listing that points to 45W USB-C charging. This would put its charging speed on par with the Galaxy A57 5G. Interestingly, the reported charging speed is higher than the 25W wired charging supported by the Galaxy S26.
Samsung Galaxy A38 and A58 India launch: What to expect
Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy A38 and Galaxy A58 around March or April 2027. This means the phones are still several months away, and we can get more clarity on what to expect once we are closer to the launch date.
For Indian users, the larger battery could be a meaningful upgrade, especially for people who use their phones for streaming, navigation, gaming and social media throughout the day. A 6,000mAh battery would also give the Galaxy A38 a useful talking point in India’s competitive mid-range smartphone market, where battery capacity and charging speed are important buying factors.
