Almost every mid-range smartphone these days promises you an all-day battery life. And we aren’t saying that they don’t live up to that promise, they do. But it is now an ordinary promise rather than a ground-breaking specification added to the list.

Now what if we tell you that we may see a phone in future with a battery that lasts for one whole week? Exciting, right? Read on.
Honor might be testing a 15,000mAh smartphone battery
According to a new leak by tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS), a smartphone with a massive 14,000mAh to 15,000mAh battery is currently being tested. The prototype is reportedly capable of lasting an entire week on a single charge.
The tipster hasn’t revealed which brand is behind this development. However, discussions on social media suggest that it could be Honor. Another report by GizmoChina has also pointed towards the brand, although Honor has not officially confirmed that it is working on such a device.
This isn’t the first time we have heard about Honor experimenting with batteries of this size. Earlier this year, a report suggested that the company was working on a smartphone with a 14,000mAh battery.
How Honor plans to fit such a big battery into a phone
Now, a 14,000mAh or 15,000mAh battery sounds impressive, but there is one obvious concern. Wouldn’t a phone with such a massive battery be extremely thick and heavy?
Interestingly, Digital Chat Station claims that the prototype won’t be excessively thick because it uses a high-density battery. Smartphone makers have been exploring silicon-carbon battery technology, which allows them to pack more capacity into a smaller space. Honor could follow a similar approach with its rumoured device.
The company has already been pushing battery capacities well beyond what we typically see in smartphones. Its recently launched Win RT 2 and Win Turbo 2 reportedly feature massive 12,070mAh batteries. The Win RT 2 also supports 90W wired fast charging.
Earlier, Honor introduced the X80 Pro Max with an 11,000mAh battery, while its Win series launched in December 2025 with 10,000mAh batteries. So, a move towards 14,000mAh or 15,000mAh would be another significant step in the same direction.
A phone that could last an entire week sounds exciting
If Honor manages to turn this prototype into a commercial smartphone, it could be a big deal for people who are tired of charging their phones every day. A battery that lasts for an entire week could be super useful for gamers, heavy smartphone users and people who spend long hours outdoors without easy access to charging points.
However, there are still several questions surrounding the device. A battery this large could bring challenges related to weight, thickness and heat management. There is also no information about when Honor might launch such a phone or which markets could get it.
For now, the 15,000mAh battery remains a rumour. But thinking about how quickly smartphone battery capacities have grown, the idea of going an entire week without reaching for a charger might not be as far-fetched as it sounds.
