All Answer’s to Canari’s Quiz in Pokemon Legends Z-A
Ace the Test
For the first round, you’ll need to step into the green square or the red square to confirm whether you think the statement is true or false. There are three questions Canari will ask before moving on to round two:
- Question 1: Canari is crazy good at falling block puzzle games. The answer is True.
- Question 2: Macarons are Canari’s favorite food. The answer is False.
- Question 3: Canari’s favorite type is the Electric-type. The answer is True.
Round 2
For Round 2, you need to head to Cafe Gallant in Magenta Sector 1 to buy a special Super Lumiose Galette for Canari’s Pokemon.
The map guide will lead you there, but it’s southwest of the third Nouveau Cafe truck and northwest of Wild Zone 5. With the treat in hand, you can head back to the contest site (Electrical Substation).
Round 3
For Round 3, you’ll need to defeat superfan Mani in a Pokemon battle. His lineup consists of the following pocket monsters:
|---|---|---|
Helioptile is Electric/Normal, making it weak to Ground and Fighting-type moves. |
Emolga is Flying and Electric, so Ground moves won’t work. It’s weak to Ice and Rock attacks, though. |
Raichu is pure Electric, so Ground moves will work best here. |
Once you beat Mani, you will be asked one final question!
- Question 4: When I was a kid, I played my first games on a laptop. Who owned the laptop? The answer is her Grandpa.
After passing the test, you can finally battle Canari over at Racine Construction in the Vert district. Once you arrive, speak to Tarragon. It turns out you actually need to battle him before you fight Canari. His team consists of…
|---|---|---|
Hippowdon is a Ground-type Pokemon, so try to bring monsters that can inflict Water, Grass, or Ice-type attacks. |
Diggersby is Normal and Ground, so Water can also help with this fight, as well as Grass, Ice, and Fighting moves. |
Excadrill is Steel and Ground, so hit it with Water, Fire, Fighting, or Ground attacks. |
After that, you can face off against Canari and rise to the next rank. If you’re wondering what Pokemon she has on her team, check them out below:

Heliolisk is Electric/Normal, so it’s weak to Ground and Fighting-type attacks. |
Ampharos is pure Electric, so bring a good Ground move to deal with it. |
Stunfisk (Unovan) is Ground and Electric, so stick to Water, Grass, Ice, and Ground moves. |
Eelektross has the Levitate ability, so it takes zero damage from Ground attacks, so stick to strong hits (don’t use Steel, Flying, or Electric moves). |
As a reward for beating Canari, she’ll give you the TM for Volt Switch. It’s an Electric-type move that dishes out a quick blow and makes the user rush back to its trainer after. It has 70 Power and a cooldown time of 12.
