Throughout Brookhollow Park in Grounded 2, players will find many resources and materials, with many of these being extracted from plants and creatures, but also from the ground. Most resources have an assigned Tier, and if taken from one of Grounded 2’s creatures, this signifies how hard that animal is to kill.
More importantly, however, if these resources must be dug, smashed, or cut, players must have upgraded the relevant component of their Omni-Tool. For example, to cut a Tier 2 material, a Tier 2 Omni-Axe is required.
