    There are 48 Missile Expansions in Metroid Prime 4, and players who collect them all can hold up to 250 Missiles. While players are likely to run into many of these collectibles without putting much effort towards doing so, some of them are quite well hidden. This guide is here to help players find those hidden items, and it details the location of every Missile Expansion in Metroid Prime 4.

    A player cannot collect every Missile Expansion in any of the game’s locations during their first visits. Indeed, players will need to return to locations after unlocking certain abilities, and this guide notes exactly which abilities are needed to access each collectible.

    Players who want to have maximum health in Metroid Prime 4, can find the location of every Energy Tank detailed in this guide.

    All Fury Green Missile Expansions in Metroid Prime 4

    There are six Missile Expansions in Metroid Prime 4‘s Fury Green:

    Missile Expansion #1

    • Location: Grove the Sacred Tree

    Use a Missile to destroy a sap wall that blocks an alcove. There is a Missile Expansion in that alcove.

    Missile Expansion #2

    After unlocking Psychic Boots, use the Psychic Visor to activate the platforms at Cliffside Gate. Use those platforms to jump up to a ledge with a Missile Expansion.

    Missile Expansion #3

    There are more Psychic Platforms that can be activated in the room with the Cargo Launcher, and they can be used to reach a Missile Expansion after unlocking Psychic Boots.

    Missile Expansion #4

    There is a red growth embedded into the north wall in Resin Creek. That growth can be destroyed by using Morph Ball and setting a bomb next to it, and doing so reveals a Missile Expansion.

    Missile Expansion #5

    There is another red growth in the Morph Ball tunnel in Broken Hall. Use a bomb to destroy it and collect the Missile Expansion that is revealed.

    Missile Expansion #6

    • Location: Reflection Chamber

    Once you have unlocked Super Missiles, use them to destroy the heavy container in the Reflection Chamber.

    All Volt Forge Missile Expansions in Metroid Prime 4

    There are eight Missile Expansions in Metroid Prime 4‘s Volt Forge:

    Missile Expansion #1

    • Location: Facility Approach (Tower 1)

    This Missile Expansion is tucked inside a container in the bottom-left corner of Facility Approach. Notably, Facility Approach is the room you load into as soon as you use Vi-O-La to enter Volt Forge on return visits.

    Missile Expansion #2

    • Location: Receiving Lobby (Tower 2)

    Use Morph Ball to access the path in the floor. Navigate along the path, timing your movements to avoid the electricity, to reach the Missile Expansion at the center.

    Missile Expansion #3

    • Location: Certification (Tower 3)

    Use a Missile to destroy the rubble near the door that leads to the Facility Core. Activate the Psychic Visor, and trace the pattern on the floating container for another Missile Expansion.

    Missile Expansion #4

    There is an elevated tunnel in this corridor. Send a Control Beam into the tunnel, and hit the target at the end, to reveal a Missile Expansion. Double jump into the opening to collect it.

    Missile Expansion #5

    • Location: Loading Airlock (Tower 1)

    There is a Spinner in this room, and using Boost Ball in it will move a suspended container. Repeatedly slam that object into the other suspended container until it falls and reveals a Missile Expansion.

    Missile Expansion #6

    • Location: Irradiation Floor (Tower 1)

    After unlocking Boost Ball, use Morph Ball to enter the base of the structure in the center of the room. Now use Boost Ball in the half pipes to ascend through the structure and reach the Missile Expansion at the top.

    Missile Expansion #7

    • Location: Processing (Tower 2)

    There is a Spinner on a platform in the center of the room, surrounded by robotic arms. Use Boost Ball inside it to reveal a Missile Expansion.

    Missile Expansion #8

    • Location: Certification (Tower 3)

    Use Psychic Lasso to pull the cover off a machine tucked into the corner of the upper portion of the room. Repeatedly hit the machine’s core with Thunder Shots to open a nearby container, which holds a Missile Expansion.

    All Ice Belt Missile Expansions in Metroid Prime 4

    There are eight Missile Expansions in Metroid Prime 4‘s Ice Belt:

    Missile Expansion #1

    Enter the bomb slot in the corner of the room as a Morph Ball, and place a bomb to open the nearby gate and gain access to a Missile Expansion.

    Missile Expansion #2

    • Location: Bio-labs Access

    Use Psychic Lasso to remove the lock on the door in the Bio-labs. Follow the path, clear the debris on the left with the Lasso, and enter the Morph Ball tunnel. Clear the ice wall beyond the tunnel with a Fire Shot to reveal a Missile Expansion.

    Missile Expansion #3

    • Location: Surgery Corridor

    Use a Fire Shot to destroy an ice wall in this room, and use Psychic Lasso to clear a Morph Ball tunnel that is now accessible. This tunnel leads to a circle around a Missile Expansion, and players can use a bomb to remove the metal barrier that blocks it.

    Missile Expansion #4

    • Location: Staging Corridor

    Use bombs to clear a Morph Ball tunnel that leads from one small room to another.

    Missile Expansion #5

    • Location: Elevator Landing

    Use the elevator in the Lobby to return to Elevator Landing once you have unlocked Thunder Shot. Use Thunder Shot to open the large door in the room, and collect the Missile Expansion that is beyond it.

    Missile Expansion #6

    There is a Missile Expansion beneath the ramp that is used to enter the room.

    Missile Expansion #7

    After unlocking Spider Ball, make your way to the bottom-left corner of the Morph Ball section. Now use the Psychic Tethers to launch Samus towards two red lights. Quickly place bombs next to both lights, so that they are both deactivated, to release the Missile Expansion.

    Missile Expansion #8

    Enter the Morph Ball slot at the base of the platform in the middle of this area, and use the Spider Ball tracks on the left to reach a Missile Expansion. Use a double bomb jump to reach it.

    To perform this double jump, place a bomb on the track, wait a moment, and then place a second bomb on the track. When the first bomb explodes, place a bomb at the height of your boost. Then allow the second track bomb to explode and boost you into the raised bomb, which will boost you into the Missile Expansion.

    All Flare Pool Missile Expansions in Metroid Prime 4

    There are nine Missile Expansions in Metroid Prime 4‘s Flare Pool:

    Missile Expansion #1

    • Location: Volcano Entrance

    Use the Psychic Visor to activate the platforms above the pool of lava. You can use those platforms to reach a Missile Tank if Psychic Boots are unlocked.

    Missile Expansion #2

    • Location: Shoreline Access

    Hit the falling lava with an Ice Shot, and then destroy the frozen lava with a Missile to gain acces to an alcove with a Missile Expansion.

    Missile Expansion #3

    There is a Missile Expansion in a pod in the Cooling Room.

    Missile Expansion #4

    • Location: Subobservation Room

    Hit the metal barrier on the wall with a Missile to reveal a bracket. Use Psychic Lasso to pull the bracket, making it possible to enter the area behind the fencing with Morph Ball. At the top of the area, perform a double bomb jump to reach a Missile Expansion.

    To perform this double bomb jump, press X while in Morph Ball form to spring and place a bomb at the top of the jump. Then spring again just before the bomb explodes to get a boost into the tunnel.

    Missile Expansion #5

    There is a panel near the ceiling that can be removed with the Psychic Lasso. Throw a bomb into the slot that is revealed, and then use a single Control Beam to hit the three points that emerge from the device.

    Missile Expansion #6

    There is an expansion hovering above the lava on the right side of this arena where you battled Phenoros.

    Missile Expansion #7

    • Location: Pressure Monitoring

    Use Psychic Lasso to pull the cover off the generator. Repeatedly shoot the generator’s core with Thunder Shots to open two containers, one of which holds a Missile Expansion.

    Missile Expansion #8

    • Location: Ventilation Works

    Use Boost Ball on the half pipe to reach a Spider Ball track that leads to a Missile Expansion.

    Missile Expansion #9

    • Location: Energy Extraction

    After unlocking Spider Ball, use the tracks on the wall to reach a Missile Expansion. Make sure to time your movements so that you avoid electrical hazards, and use bombs to boost across gaps in the track as necessary.

    All Great Mines Missile Expansions in Metroid Prime 4

    There are seven Missile Expansions in Metroid Prime 4‘s Great Mines:

    Missile Expansion #1

    • Location: Mine Shaft – Level 1

    Climb the Spider Ball track on the outside of the elevator shaft. Follow the path, skip the first Spider Ball track you encounter, and jump the gap. Descend the next Spider Ball track, jump the gap to the left, and climb yet another track to run into a Missile Expansion.

    Missile Expansion #2

    • Location: Blast Mining (Level 2)

    Use a Super Missile to destroy a rock wall and reveal a Missile Expansion.

    Missile Expansion #3

    • Location: Tunnel E (Level 3)

    There is a door on a tube that can be raised with the Psychic Lasso in this room. Enter the tunnel and go to the left side to find a Missile Expansion.

    Missile Expansion #4

    • Location: Transit Tunnel B (Level 2)

    Use a Super Missile to destroy the container on the cart that is crashed into the wall.

    Missile Expansion #5

    • Location: Narrow Crevice (Level 2)

    Use Psychic Grapple to swing from the creatures that are crawling on the ceiling and walls. This path leads to a ledge with a Missile Expansion.

    Missile Expansion #6

    • Location: Transit Tunnel A (Level 1)

    Hit the heavy latch in this room with a Super Missile to gain access to a room with a Missile Expansion.

    Missile Expansion #7

    • Location: Easing Tunnel (Level 2)

    Insert a Power Bomb into the slot in this room. Then use a Super Missile to destroy the crystals in the cart that appears.

    All Sol Valley Missile Expansions in Metroid Prime 4

    There are 10 Missile Expansions in Metroid Prime 4‘s Sol Valley:

    Missile Expansion #1

    Use Psychic Lasso to pull a container out of the sand just southeast of Ice Belt.

    Boost up a ramp to run into a Missile Expansion that is hovering in an opening in a tall rock formation.

    Break the crates inside the building at the northern G.F. Debris site to reveal a Missile Expansion.

    Missile Expansion #6

    Enter the Source of Spring Shrine to the north of Flare Pool, and roll through the Morph Ball tunnel at the bottom to reach a Missile Expansion.

    Missile Expansion #7

    Enter Ice Belt, pass by the elevator, and use Psychic Grapple to reach a path that leads to an exterior platform. Use Psychic Boost Ball in the rail at the edge of the platform to reach a Missile Expansion.

    Missile Expansion #8

    Go to the G.F. Debris site southeast of Fury Green, and shoot a Control Beam into the tube that extends from the antenna. Use Psychic Grapple to swing from the antenna when it falls to reach a Missile Expansion.

    Missile Expansion #9

    Head to the G.F. Debris site on the south side of the map. Hit the metal shutter on the side of the building with a Thunder Shot, and use the Morph Ball tunnel that is revealed to access a Missile Expansion.

    Missile Expansion #10

    After completing the Great Mines, find Tokabi and his campfire at various locations throughout Sol Valley. He will offer a Missile Expansion when he eventually travels to this location.
