Apple has scheduled its next major hardware launch event for September 9, bringing the focus back to its annual iPhone refresh. The event will be held at the Steve Jobs Theatre in Apple Park, Cupertino.
Apple has not revealed its full launch lineup, but the iPhone 18 Pro series and Apple’s first foldable are expected to be the stars of the show. The company could also announce new Apple Watch and AirPods models, along with release details for its latest software updates.
Apple September Event: Date, Time and Venue
Apple’s September event will take place on September 9 at the Steve Jobs Theatre, Apple Park, Cupertino. It will begin at 10am PT (10:30pm IST) and carries the tagline “Surprise and Shine”.
The event is expected to be streamed online for viewers worldwide. In India, users should be able to watch it through Apple’s official website, YouTube channel and the Apple TV app on supported devices.
Apple has traditionally used its September event to launch new iPhone models and announce other hardware and software updates.
Apple September Event: What to Expect
iPhone 18 Series
The iPhone 18 series is expected to be the biggest announcement, with the lineup potentially including the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, with the vanilla iPhone 18 rumoured to arrive next year.
Apple has not confirmed any specifications, so reports about design changes, camera upgrades, performance improvements or battery enhancements should be treated as unconfirmed until the event.
However, the introduction of the iPhone Ultra, Apple first foldable iPhone, will undoutedly be the biggest highlight of the event.
Apple Watch and AirPods
Apple could also introduce new Apple Watch models alongside the iPhone lineup. The company may highlight hardware upgrades and new watchOS features, although specific products have not been confirmed.
AirPods could also feature during the showcase, either through new hardware or software-related announcements.
Software Updates
The event is also likely to bring final release details for iOS, iPadOS, watchOS and macOS. Apple typically confirms public rollout dates for its latest software versions around the September iPhone launch.
Expected Price Hikes
Apple could raise iPhone prices this year, with the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max reportedly facing a $100 increase in the US. Both models are expected to start at $1,199, around Rs. 1.15 lakh, which would be roughly 9 percent higher than the iPhone 17 Pro.
In India, the iPhone 18 Pro could reportedly cost around Rs. 10,000 more than its predecessor. Rising DRAM and NAND storage costs are believed to be among the reasons behind the hike. Reports also suggest the iPhone 17, iPhone Air and iPhone 17e could become more expensive, although Apple has not confirmed any price changes.
