Apple has rolled out the fourth developer beta of iOS 27, giving developers and early testers another preview of the next major iPhone software update. While this release doesn’t introduce sweeping design changes, it refines several existing features across Siri, Photos, Apple TV, Camera, AirPods, and system settings.
The update also adds new controls aimed at improving media management, accessibility, and video recording ahead of the stable public rollout later this year. With iOS 27 Beta 4, Apple has focused on polishing the overall user experience with a number of feature additions and interface tweaks.

Apple TV Gets Automatic Episode Downloads
The Apple TV app now includes an Automatic Downloads toggle. Once enabled, the feature automatically downloads the next two episodes of a TV series for offline viewing. Downloaded episodes are removed from local storage after they have been watched, helping save storage space.
Photos App Adds New Display Option
The Photos app now offers a Zoom Photos to Fill setting that automatically enlarges images matching the iPhone’s display dimensions for a more immersive viewing experience. Apple has also removed the wallpaper dimming effect that appeared in the previous beta release.
Siri Receives More Customisation
Siri gains several quality-of-life improvements in Beta 4. Apple has redesigned the voice selection page for easier navigation and introduced new options for controlling the number of lines shown in Siri’s text responses.
Accessibility settings now include an Always Show Request option, which displays a live transcription of voice commands while interacting with Siri. Apple has also added a new introductory screen when launching Siri Search by swiping down on the Home Screen.
Camera App Adds ProRes Log Controls
The Camera app receives new tools for creators shooting in Apple ProRes. Users can now choose between Log and Log 2 recording formats, offering greater flexibility for colour grading and post-production workflows.
AirPods and Connectivity Improvements
Apple has redesigned the AirPods controls in Control Center, making Adaptive Audio settings easier to access and customise. The update also introduces per-network Connectivity Assist controls, allowing users to better manage cellular data usage on individual Wi-Fi networks.

The iOS 27 Developer Beta 4 is available for the following devices:
- iPhone 11 series and newer
- iPhone 12 series
- iPhone 13 series
- iPhone 14 series
- iPhone 15 series

Final Thoughts
With iOS 27 Beta 4, Apple continues to fine-tune the software ahead of its public release.
