Apple has launched the all-new iPad Pro with the company’s new M5 silicon. While there were expectations of Apple hosting a separate October event to unveil the new iPads and MacBooks, the Cupertino-based tech giant has instead opted to reveal the new devices via a press release on its website.
iPad Pro specifications:
The iPad Pro features an 11-inch or 13-inch Ultra Retina XDR OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1,600 nits of peak brightness (1,000 nits of full-screen brightness). The tablet is just 5.1mm thick for the 13-inch model and 5.3mm thick for the 11-inch model.
The M5 chip on the new iPad Pro comes with four performance cores and six efficiency cores, along with a 10-core GPU and a 16-core Neural Engine.
In terms of improved GPU performance, the M5 delivers 30 percent faster performance compared to the M4 and 2.5 times faster performance compared to the M1.
The Neural Engine in the M5 is said to improve the performance of Apple Intelligence for AI tools like Image Playground. Meanwhile, developers who use Apple’s foundation models framework are also said to get faster performance with the M5.
It comes with an Apple-designed C1X cellular model, which the company claims offers up to 50 percent faster cellular data performance while reducing power consumption by 30 percent compared to the last generation.
The iPad Pro also features an N1 wireless networking chip, which enables Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread, while improving performance when connected to 5GHz networks, along with the reliability of features like Hotspot and AirDrop.
The iPad Pro M5 comes with a 12MP Wide camera on the rear with up to 5 times digital zoom and auto image stabilization. On the front is a 12MP Center Stage camera for selfies and video calls.

The new iPad Pro M5 is currently available to pre-order and can be bought from the Apple website, its four official stores in India, and authorized sellers from October 22. The tablet is priced at ₹99,900 for the 11-inch variant and ₹1,29,900 for the 13-inch variant.
