May 23, 2025: Bengaluru-based Ather Energy has announced a partnership with Thunderplus, an EV charging station provider located in Telangana. This collaboration involves the interoperability of ThunderPlus’s 140 charging stations, which span 15 states and 50 cities and are now accessible to Ather Energy’s customer base of electric two-wheeler manufacturers.
According to Ather Energy officials, the goal of this project is to reduce range anxiety because Ather riders will have easy access to ThunderPlus’ fast-charging network, which will improve the compatibility of both companies’ charging systems

ThunderPlus CEO Rajeev YSR commended the collaboration and stated that they would be open to working with more OEMs. According to ThunderPlus, more than 2,000 EV charging stations with capacities ranging from 30 kW to 240 kW are in operation throughout India.
Their charging and OEM partners currently include mobility providers like FlixBus, Turno, Ohm, and ETO; the company hopes to grow these partnerships to support environmentally friendly transportation options. The company’s goals after the collaboration with Ather are to facilitate quicker rollouts, integrate the grid seamlessly, and improve the customer experience more broadly.
According to company officials, ThunderPlus is laying the groundwork for a genuinely nationwide EV network that is dependable, vast, and future-ready, spanning from major cities like Delhi and Bengaluru to quickly growing EV hubs like Vijayawada, Ayodhya, and Nagpur.
