The first DLC for the popular life sim InZOI will be revealed during Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 19, with Krafton confirming that a huge amount of new content is coming to the game. Touted as a major competitor to The Sims 4, InZOI continues to grow and evolve during its early access period, with dedicated players eager for each new update.

The hype surrounding InZOI‘s release can’t be understated, with the game surpassing The Sims 4‘s player count on Steam in its first 24 hours and selling over one million copies during its first week. Featuring many standard life sim elements, much of the title’s success is driven by its hyperrealistic graphics and detailed character creator, with players even able to utilize motion capture tools for real-time facial tracking. While InZOI‘s player count has fallen sharply since its initial launch, Krafton may have a way to bring back players, and fans will want to tune in to one of gaming’s biggest nights next month to learn more.

InZOI has been criticized for shallow gameplay, but it’s still in early access and includes features that The Sims 4 was missing at its launch.

During a recent livestream, Krafton announced that a trailer for InZOI‘s first DLC will be shown during Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 19. The developers have confirmed that this will add a large chunk of new content to the game, including a new map consisting of two islands. The first, Cahaya, is a tropical locale inspired by Southeast Asia, while the second will feature a resort where players can relax after a tough day. Farming and fishing will be added as new activities, which many fans are happy to hear, as in a recent survey, players reported that InZOI lacks simulation content. Those lucky enough to attend Gamescom in person will be able to experience Cahaya for themselves, as a demo will be available on the event floor. No release date for the DLC has been announced, but many are hoping that Krafton will reveal it during the show.

While InZOI has seen a sharp decline in players since its release in late March, Krafton isn’t concerned. According to the game’s developers, the team’s top priority during early access is to gather and act upon player feedback, polishing the title to a higher standard and adding new features that will ensure longtime stability and growth. The upcoming DLC will likely trigger a boost in players, especially if it’s as massive as it sounds.

Gamescom 2025 will be the largest in the event’s history, and a number of high-profile reveals are expected during this year’s festivities. After being absent from the 2024 show, Nintendo will attend Gamescom 2025, potentially sharing more information about upcoming Switch 2 titles. Pokemon fans will also want to tune in, as more information Pokemon Legends: Z-A may be revealed ahead of its October launch.
