Battlefield 6 players may not have to wait long after the game’s release to dive into Battle Royale mode, as a new rumor indicates that the free-to-play addition will launch around October 28. Scheduled to be released on October 10, Battlefield 6 is one of the most highly anticipated FPS titles of 2025, with many fans of the franchise eager to see if it can rise above the oft-maligned Battlefield 2042.

The day that the game’s beta went live for all players, EA announced that the Battlefield 6 beta was the biggest in franchise history, boasting over 473,000 concurrent players on Steam. While the experience seemed to be positive for the majority of players, many took the time to report issues or bugs that they experienced during their brief time with the title, and shortly after, EA announced numerous changes that would be made according to this input ahead of the game’s full launch. This includes weapon tweaks, alterations to player movement, and map reworks. Now, with Battlefield 6 less than a month away, rumors are beginning to swirl regarding one of its most interesting modes.

Battlefield 6’s Free-to-Play Battle Royale Mode May Release Around October 28

A new Twitter post made by CharlieIntel states that Battlefield 6‘s Battle Royale mode may launch at the end of October, and more specifically, around October 28. The highly anticipated free-to-play mode will include several unique features when compared to other titles in the genre, with its developers noting that it will have the “deadliest ring in BR,” which will instantly kill users upon contact. Players can also expect fully destructible environments and a massive map to explore, along with transport vehicles and 100-player matches. More concrete details are expected in the coming weeks.

This month, Battlefield Studios confirmed that Battlefield 6 will allow for console-only crossplay for those on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. While the game’s Javelin anti-cheat software keeps out some cheaters, many still get through, and console players who want to keep these bad actors out of their lobbies will be able to with ease, even when crossplay is turned off.

Those wanting to hear more about EA’s upcoming FPS will want to mark September 26 on their calendars, as EA has confirmed that Battlefield 6 will be featured during Tokyo Game Show 2025. The developers are expected to share more details about the title’s single-player campaign during the event, and the English voice actors will also be taking to the stage at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan.
