Forza Horizon 5: 20 Best Cars With Widebody Kits

Discover the top cars in Forza Horizon 5 that offer stunning transformations with widebody kit upgrades, elevating both their looks and performance.

The best drag racing cars in Forza Horizon 5 are normally quite expensive, belonging to the most costly car manufacturers, so players should make sure to hoard as many credits (CR) as they can. Nevertheless, they are worth buying—and players will have a lot of success drag racing with them, even beginner Forza Horizon players.

Updated January 25, 2025 by Stephen LaGioia: Playground Games has hit the ground running with Forza Horizon 5 — the most ambitious, epic installment of the franchise. A steady stream of updates, including the multiplayer Hide and Seek, has kept fans glued to the virtual wheel. Meanwhile, the DLC Hot Wheels pack has tapped into gamer nostalgia and introduced the thrill rides of drops and loop-de-loops one might find on a Hot Wheels toy track. But while this game amps up the scope and complexity, some prefer to dial things back with a slew of simple, quick drag races. It’s no surprise, given their thrilling nature, and the range of fast, flashy cars that shine here. As such, we’ve decided to tune up this list with more of the best, fastest cars for drag races.

All cars are listed and described assuming their highest class tuning setup (S1, S2, or X).

    Vauxhall Lotus Carlton

Not Available At The Autoshow – Possible Festival Playlist Or Forzathon Shop Listing (About 70,000 Credit Value)

Forza Horizon 5 Vauxhall Lotus Carlton in garage

While it may seem more humble compared to the slew of super and hypercars that populate FH5‘s lineup, this 1990 UK car was at one point the fastest Sedan in the world. While not so much the case these days, it remains a solidly built ride (that’s been extensively refined and redesigned for optimal performance) and a very speedy option.

It’s powered by a 3.6 liter Opel inline-six engine with 24 valves and Garrett twin turbochargers. Simply put, the Vauxhall is a smooth, stable, and swift vehicle, with great handling abilities as well. It’s not as impressive as its FH4 version, and players will want to fine-tune and upgrade it, but it certainly holds potential.

    17

Chevrolet Summit Racing Pro Stock Camaro

Possible Festival Playlist Or Forzathon Shop Listing

Forza Horizon 5 Chevrolet Summit Pro Stock Camaro in garage

This beast was essentially built for drag racing, and is also an excellent option for Street Races. It truly hits the ground running and can quickly surpass 200 mph without breaking a sweat. It flexes with a 8.2-liter naturally-aspirated V8 engine, and delivers a whopping 1,400 BHP (brake horsepower).

Its acceleration and launch are absolutely off-the-charts — and with a speed stat of 7.6 (SR 919), it can both reach and retain lightning speeds for a while. The car was designed to excel in the Pro Stock racing series, and it certainly shows from its explosive performance.

    (Hot Wheels) Bone Shaker

The wild ride that is the FH Hot Wheels DLC bombards players with fast racing and edge-of-the-seat thrills. This classic, intimidating car based on the toy of the same name from Picture Car Warehouse is a great vehicle for achieving this. Despite its distinct appearance, the car performs quite well, as it’s based on a modified stripped-out Corvette C6 chassis.

Forza Horizon 5 Hot Wheels: Every New Car Added In The Expansion, Ranked

Forza Horizon 5 recently received an expansion where new cars were added to the game, giving players more choices.

This also means it’s a lightweight car that can effortlessly zip about. It’s powered by a 5.7-liter v8 engine producing 402 BHP. Its statistics are solid all-around following some fine-tuning, aside from its off-roading and braking which are more average.

    15

    Donkervoort D8 GTO

Possible Forzathon Shop Or Festival Playlist Reward (About 175,000 CR Value)

Forza Horizon 5 Donkervoort D8 GTO zipping down road up close

One need only look at the narrow build of this powerful, ergonomic ride from the Netherlands to realize its natural home is the drag strip. The Donkervoort can launch at speeds of 160 mph in nearly the blink of an eye, thanks to some stellar launch and acceleration.

As one might expect, this sleek race car is also very lightweight, allowing it to essentially glide and pierce through the wind. But really, this is an all-around great ride — provided players don’t plan on attempting wild off-roading or countless twists and turns.

    14

    2014 BAC Mono

“Wanderer” Completion Reward (About 160,000 CR Value)

Forza Horizon 5 Bac Mono in garage

With its slim design and lack of windscreen, this ultralight sports car can pierce right through the wind and swiftly coast to victory — making it a great option for the straightaways of FH5. It can rev up to a top speed of close to 180 mph without breaking a sweat, and take off at 60 mph in just under three seconds.

With solid handling and braking, this is also a great option for those windier Street Races. But with its aerodynamic nature and fairly high speed, as well as above-average launching, the BAC Mono is an underrated Drag Racing car to consider.

    13

    2021 Rimac Nevera

    3,000,000 CR At The Autoshow

Forza Horizon 5 Rimac Nevera up close by building

Boasting loads of BHP that clocks in at 1,893, this electric car shines beyond most of its ilk as well as many gas-powered counterparts. Built with specialized tires that allow for hitting sky-high speeds in a smooth, steady fashion, the Croatian hypercar is an excellent choice to hit the road with for drag racing.

The vehicle zips to 60 mph in a mere 1.85 seconds, and holds the record for the fastest production EV at two motorsports festivals. It’s perhaps fitting that the brand ‘Nevera’ refers to ‘quick and sudden lightning storms’ in Croatian, as this beast certainly brings lightning-fast qualities. It offers pitch-perfect launch and near-perfect speed and acceleration abilities, making it a force of nature for those longer drag strips.

    12

    1991 Jaguar Sport XJR-15

Complete The Aerodromo En La Selva Rumor (About 500,000 CR Value)

Forza Horizon 5 Sport XJR-15 Jaguar display

This classic dates back to a time when the internet was barely in its infancy, though it can still hang with the best of them. This is thanks to its 6L naturally-aspirated V12 engine, solid build, and relatively light weight that allows it to coast effortlessly at warp speeds while keeping an even keel.

When it comes to clearing jumps in Forza Horizon 5, these cars make for the best choices.

Handling and braking are both strong points, making it useful far beyond straightforward drag strips, though speed is its strongest quality. It’s well worth seeking out this coveted Barn Find, which resides in the abandoned airport in the southwest region of the map.

    11

    2012 Ferrari 599XX Evolution

    2,600,000 CR At The Autoshow

Forza Horizon 5 Ferrari 599XX Evolution in garage

The Ferrari is one of the iconic supercars both in FH5 and at large, and this sleek 2012 model is no exception. The car is laced with 740 bhp and a 6L V12 engine that helps power it over most in its path.

Even with hundreds of other stars rounding out the lineup, the 599XX Evo stands out as one of the fastest S2 cars in the game, topping off at a massive 240 mph. Of course, players aren’t advised to drag this car off-road, but it excels in almost every other fashion, with superb handling and braking in particular.

    10

    1997 McLaren F1 GT

    15,000,000 CR At The Autoshow

    1997 McLaren F1 GT forza 5

One of FH4‘s fastest cars still edges out most others in the latest installment. As mentioned in its official description, this sleek supercar from the UK is “ready to go straight to the track, swiftly put opponents “in the rearview mirror.” With this in mind and the car’s aerodynamic design, it’s no surprise that the McLaren excels in its speed, boasting a solid 8.4 (S1 866) as well as a decent acceleration of 6.2.

This baby can sprint to 100 mph in under seven seconds and tops out at a whopping 226 mph. And while not necessarily needed for drag races—it has the bonus of staying at warp speed with even-keeled handling of 8.2. It’s certainly not cheap, but it’s worth the long investment.

This Italian beast can light it up when it comes to red-hot speeds; thanks to its roaring 6.0L V12 engine and 590 brake horsepower.

    8

    2019 Rimac Concept Two

    2,000,000 CR At The Autoshow

Forza Horizon 4 Rimac Concept Two three quarters view display in garage

The 2019 Rimac Concept Two is a fully-electric hypercar that has incredible top speed and even impressive Handling, making it suitable even for normal driving around the Forza Horizon 5 map. With 9.3 speed, 10 acceleration, and 10 launch (SR 963), this car is perfectly set up to handle drag racing.

It’s very pricey, so players may find that it takes a bit of time to assemble the required cash. The vehicle is well worth buying though, due to its sheer speed and acceleration capabilities, and driving it is one of the best things about Forza Horizon.

    7

    2020 Koenigsegg Jesko

    2,800,000 CR At The Autoshow

    Koenigsegg Jesko forza horizon 5

The Koenigsegg Jesko 2020 is a love letter to Koenigsegg fans, being named after the founder of the car manufacturer. With 10 speed, 8.3 acceleration, and 9.6 launch, the Jesko is a dream for drag racers but is more suited to longer sprints due to the lower acceleration.

Players could always customize the Koenigsegg Jesko to have higher acceleration to make it more viable for longer drag races. In any case, it is worth buying for players who enjoy this type of racing. Players will enjoy driving the Koenigsegg Jesko around every Forza Horizon biome.

    6

    2014 Porsche 918 Spyder

    850,000 CR At The Autoshow

Player hits a top speed of over 200 mph

The 2014 Porsche 918 Spyder is a beautiful-looking car, and it packs plenty of speed, acceleration, and launch to make Drag Racing a breeze for players who own it. While it is a bit pricey, it is worth it.

This vehicle can be further customized to improve its stats, so considering the base stats it starts with, this customization can result in essentially maxing out the car across all of its stats. Players who love Porsche will naturally gravitate to this car, but it is viable even for players who prefer cars from other manufacturers. While it isn’t a classic car to buy, it is viable for drag racing.

    5

    2011 Lamborghini Sesto Elemento

    2,500,000 CR At The Autoshow

Lamborghini Sesto Elemento in Forza Horizon 5

The 2011 Lamborghini Sesto Elemento belongs to the S2 class and is a gorgeous, sleek speed demon that is a ton of fun for players to use. With perfect scores in acceleration and launch, this vehicle can match any other, but the speed of 7.8 isn’t the highest.

Forza Horizon 5 players know that sometimes the fastest cars can be hard to control — but these ones handle smoothly and reach high speeds.

Players should try to customize this car to have a better top speed or make sure to only use this on shorter drag races. Fans of Lamborghini will undoubtedly want to pick this car for drag racing, and it is viable enough to be a solid choice. Lamborghini cars are present in lots of awesome, dynamic driving games, and it’s not hard to see why.

    4

    1965 Hoonigan Ford Hoonicorn Mustang

    500,000 CR At The Autoshow

Forza Horizon 5 1965 Hoonigan ford hoonicorn mustang in water

The 1965 Hoonigan Ford Hoonican Mustang takes up just as much room with its name as it needs to; a fantastic, iconic car, it is one of the best cars in Forza Horizon 5 for both drifting and drag racing.

With 9.2 speed, 10 acceleration, and 7.4 launch, it may not be the fastest car straight off the mark, but its truly fearsome speed and acceleration mean that any fairly long drag race will be won by it. Forza Horizon 5 is a racing game with great customization options, so players should try to customize the car so that its launch is a little faster just to secure the win in shorter-length drag races.

    3

    2019 Bugatti Divo

    3,000,000 CR At The Autoshow

A Bugatti Divo from Forza Horizon 5.

One of the newest supercars around, the 2019 Bugatti Divo is a stylish beast that is one of the best cars around for drag racing. With 9.6 speed, 10 acceleration, and 6.2 launch, this vehicle races ahead at a breakneck pace.

The Launch could be higher, so players could customize the Bugatti Divo so that it has a higher Launch to get it off the ground quicker. Despite that, acceleration and speed allow it to close the gap against most other cars and win the drag race.

    2

    2010 Mosler MT900S

    320,000 CR At The Autoshow

    Mosler MT900S Forza Horizon 5

This 2010 American car is a great choice for drag races, as it’s effectively speedy, sleek — and doesn’t break the bank with its low Autoshow asking price. This optimized vehicle milks quite a bit of power out of a single supercharged V8 engine.

The Mosler can easily top 200 mph, but where it really shines is its launch and acceleration, which allow it to zoom from zero to 60 in just a few seconds. Tack on some superb handling for good measure, and the Mosler becomes one of the most appealing cars for road racing in general.

    1

    2011 BMW X5 M Forza Edition (S2)

    100,000 CR At The Autoshow

Forza Horizon 5 BMW X5 M 2011 Fe in front of barn

The 2011 BMW X5 M Forza Edition is the best drag racing car available in the game, at least for its price. It has 8 speed, 10 acceleration, and 10 launch. Players should customize the speed if they can, but this isn’t the highest priority as the acceleration and launch should be enough to get them over the line in shorter drag races.

The BMW X5 M is exclusive to the VIP pack for players who bought the DLC. It is worth getting, as this vehicle is considered to be one of the fastest cars in Forza Horizon 5.
