10 Best Melee Type Temtem (& Where To Find Them)
Players interested in finding the best Melee-type Temtem can find them here!
To become the greatest Temtem tamer in the world, players must put together the most powerful team possible. Luckily enough, Temtem is filled with over one hundred different species of Temtem of various types that players can go after and create a unique style of play. One of the most powerful types of Temtem in the game is, of course, the fire type. While there are many strong Temtem, some burn brighter than others. Here are some of the best fire-type Temtem in the game.
Updated on January 24, 2025, by Mehrdad Khayyat: Staying away from Water and Earth creatures, Fire Temtems come with built-in immunity to the Burned condition, as it is something quite common to their nature without being opposed as a threat.
Fire techniques are strong against Nature and Crystal types. Also, the Fire Temtems are resistant to those two types as well, which allows them to deal significant damage to Nature and Crystal Temtems while only receiving a portion of damage from them.

Capyre
Overall Stat: 462
-
Capyre can be found in the following locations:
- Omninesia: Anak Caldera, Anak Volcano
- Capyre can also be obtained by finding a Banapi and evolving it after 17 levels.
Capyre is a fire-type Temtem whose appearance is modeled similarly to a fox that has a flared red and yellow mane that goes along with its personality perfectly. Capyre is the final evolution chain of Banapi that can be obtained after seventeen levels.
While Capyre’s base stats are reasonably lower than most other fire Temtem, Capyre does benefit from having the highest speed stats amongst all fire Temtem in the game, base and final evolutions combined. Capyre also benefits from having the Resilient trait, which allows it to drop to one HP instead of fainting when overexerted or being knocked out. Players can find both Capyre and its previous form, Banapi in Anak Caldera and Anak Volcano on Omninesia Island.

Aohi
Overall Stat: 461
- Aohi cannot be found and tamed in the wilderness.
- Players can find and tame a Reval in Meadowdale, Arbury, and then evolve it into Aohi after 15 levels.
Emerged from the collision of Fire and Mental types, Aohi is a considerable creature in Temtem when it comes to working with Special damage-dealing approaches. This Temtem delivers a SPATK of 89 and a SPDEF of 79. It’s also decently fast with an SPD rating of 71, though lacking good STA (51) and DEF (46) stats.
Aohi isn’t easy to obtain as it is locked behind evolution, but the creature comes with two exclusive traits: Warm Gift and Ignis Fatuus. The former applies the Burned condition to any opposing Temtem on the battlefield for 3 turns, while the latter grants a 1-turn Evading condition to Aohi as soon as an ally or rival Temtem is knocked out.
6
Mastione
Overall Stat: 468
-
Mastione can be found in the following locations:
- Omninesia: Anak Caldera, Anak Volcano
- Mastione can also be obtained by finding a Magmis and evolving it after 16 levels.
Matione is the final evolution of the Magmis Temtem. It is a fire and water hybrid Temtem with exceptionally strong ATK stats and reasonably good SPATK and DEF stats. Mastione is an upright walking Temtem with aquatic features similar to a shark with a fin on its head and a wide gaping mouth filled with sharp teeth. Mastione dawns orange and blue colors to accentuate its fiery persona.
Mastione benefits from being able to learn two incredibly powerful techniques: Sharp Rain, and Flaming Meteorite. Players can obtain Mastione by finding and capturing a Magmis and leveling it to evolution. Magmis can most often be found in Anak Volcano on Omninesia Island.
5
Magmut
Overall Stat: 469
- Magmut cannot be found and tamed in the wilderness.
-
Players can find and tame a Mosu in the following locations, and then evolve it into Magmut after 15 levels.
- Arbury: Mac Aed’s Crags, Greenglen Forest
As the name’s similarity to Mammut implies, Magmut is a tanky unit that comes with a big chunk of HP (90) and above-average attacking stats. The creature’s Melee nature allows it to be effective in dealing physical damage to rivals, while the Fire nature keeps it secure against opposing Melee units.
Speaking of traits, Magmut is the bearer of two exclusives. The first is Specgulp, which restores 8% of max HP whenever the creature is targeted by a Special Attack. And Physgulp, the other trait, restores the same amount of health if Magmut is hit by a Physical Attack.
4
Drakash
Overall Stat: 469
- Drakash can be found in the Anak Volcano, Omninesia.
- Drakash can also be obtained by evolving a Pycko after 14 levels.
Thanks to its Fire and Crystal origins, Drakash takes only 25% of the damage dealt whenever battling against creatures of these two types. While the creature is vulnerable to Physical damage due to its mediocre DEF (49) rating, it comes with impressive SPATK (86) and SPD (79) stats.
Heat Discharge and Sentinel are two traits of Drakash. The first one applies Burned for 2 turns to both opponents, while the latter prevents Drakash and its ally from receiving an Asleep condition while on the battlefield. Also, if an ally unit already has an Asleep condition, adding Drakash to the battlefield will remove it instantly.
3
Vulcrane
Overall Stat: 481
- Vulcrane can be found in the Mines of Mictlan, Tucma.
- Vulcrane can also be obtained by evolving a Vulor after 28 levels.
Vulcrane is the final evolution chain after Vulor and the third evolution chain in Vulvir’s progression. Vulcrane is an upright walking Temtem whose design is similar to that of a small dinosaur like a raptor or most similar to that of the Pokemon, Marowak, because of the stone shield helmet surrounding its head.
Vulcrane is a Fire and Earth Temtem with a strong, well-rounded stat pool that makes it good, not great, at everything, giving players more options. Vulcrane can only be obtained via evolution, so players will want to find a Vulvir or Vulor who are common residents of Anak Volcano and Anak Culdera on Omninesia Island.
2
Raican
Overall Stat: 463
- Raican can be found in Altar of the Inner Flame, Omninesia, but players must use a TemCardX to tame it.
- An easier way to acquire Raican is to find and tame a Raize from Anak Volcano or Anak Caldera in Omninesia, and then evolve it into Raican after 25 levels.
- Raize itself is also an evolution of Raiber.
Raican is a fire-type Temtem with one of the coolest models in the game, modeled after a fierce lion with a massive red mane. Racan is one of the most sought-after evolutions, being the final evolution chain of Raiber. Raican is a very strong partner for any tamer having high HP, ATK, AND SPD stats that can be developed further. One of the special Traits that Raican can be endowed with is called Motivator, which can make a big difference in a battle. Motivator boosts Raican’s ATK, SPD, and SPATK after knocking out an opponent’s Temtem.
In addition, Motivator restores a base percentage of stamina at the beginning of each turn. This makes Raican even more of a threat to foes both in battles and in the wild. While Raican can be found in the wild, players can only tame him by using a unique item. Otherwise, players must find a Raiber or Raize that can be found in Alter of the Inner Flame and evolve them to Raican at level twenty-five.
1
Anahir
Overall Stat: 423
- Anahir can be found and tamed in Anak Volcano, Omninesia.
Anahir is an exceptionally rare fire-type Temtem to have in a team. As a crystal fire type, Anahir has exceptionally high DEF and SPDEF stats, the highest of all Temtem and evolved Temtem. Abahuir has a molten body encased by hard crystal armor with jagged crystals protruding from it, making it a hardy opponent. Anahir is celebrated for its tanky-ness. It can be a real pest to take down thanks to its high defensive stats and is a perfect combo half to a strong offensive Temtem.
There are a few unique conditions that surround Anahir, one being that his evolution, Anatan, can only be reached by completing certain thresholds. Only after obtaining 1,000 TVs can players evolve Anahir. In addition, Anahir is a special case when trying to obtain one. Currently, the only sure way to receive Anahir is by the quest “Adventure in the Myrisles”, for which Anahir is a reward.
