- Cadillac’s latest concept is a stunning 2+2 crossover with gullwing doors.

Following in the footsteps of the stunning Opulent Velocity concept from last year, Cadillac is at it again in 2025 with another breathtaking electric showcar. Dubbed the Elevated Velocity, it’s the American luxury automaker’s vision of a sleek, sporty and off-road-ready electric crossover that can blaze through the desert and the streets of California–either autonomously or with someone behind the steering wheel.
Riding on 24-inch wheels, the electric concept car has a 2+2 seating configuration and a pair of gullwing doors. The long hood and planted stance are in the same vein as the road-going Celestiq and Lyriq EVs, but taken to the extreme.

The exterior is very sleek, but the interior is the centerpiece of this new EV. With seating for four, the Elevated Velocity’s steering wheel and pedals can retract to transform the cabin into a sumptuous autonomous pod that’s capable of tackling any terrain–at least in theory.
Red is the main color here. Morello Red, which is a deep red leather with smooth Fine Nappa grain, was carefully selected for the headliner, pillars, door uppers, seat cushions and cargo floor. Then, there’s Cerise, a sleek red fabric that wraps around the interior from the doors to behind the instrument panel, and behind the rear seats.
The doors feature unique 3D-printed patterns in black crystal inspired by the game of desert polo. Meanwhile, a red boucle fabric dubbed Garnet adorns the seat uppers, door armrests, console armrest and instrument panel.
Keeping with the desert polo theme, the Cadillac Elevated Velocity features an interior cabin filtration system that can pull dust particles out of the cabin air. There’s also an extreme climatization feature that compensates for dry air, sudden and extreme temperature shifts. But that’s not all; an air purification and air fragrance system keeps the occupants refreshed, while the integrated red light therapy can help occupants “recover from vigorous pursuits.” Cadillac’s words, not mine.

A hand-crafted polo set is part of the whole package, with its case reflecting the car’s Vapor Blue exterior color. Meanwhile, the gloves, helmet, kneepads and mallet are covered in Morello red and feature Cadillac’s wordmark and crests.
The company has also thought about keeping the exterior of the sleek crossover clean after going on a desert adventure. Washing cars is probably not a job for the ultra-rich, so the car’s bodywork can enable a dust-phobic vibration that removes debris like sand, dust and dirt.
The Elevated Velocity concept has three user experience modes and four drive modes. When the driver approaches the car, Welcome Mode is activated. The floor, seats, instrument panel and steering wheel illuminate in a soft white, while the gullwing doors lift to welcome the driver.

The following user experience modes need to be activated by the driver. Elevate Mode turns the car into an autonomous vehicle–the pedals and steering wheel retract, while the outside temperature, the driver’s body temperature and the cabin temperature are displayed on one of the screens. The ambient lighting also shifts to red and the infrared light is turned on.
Then, there’s Velocity Mode. This is used for manual driving, with an augmented reality head-up display taking center stage on the cowl display.
Meanwhile, the driving modes include e-Velocity, which is an evolution of the current V-Mode found in today’s V-Series cars, Terra mode, which is used for off-road driving, Sand Vision, which helps the driver see better in a sandstorm, and Elements defy, which activates the dust-phobic vibration to keep the car clean.
The Cadillac Elevated Velocity concept should be the inspiration for the company’s future electric SUVs and crossovers. It will be on display at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering in Carmel, California, on August 15, 2025.
