MUMBAI, 13th May 2025: City Flo’s parent company, Komorebi Tech Solutions, has formed a new company, Urban Glide, in partnership with Globus Trans Solutions, to operate a fleet of 500 electric buses, of which, in the first phase, they plan to induct close to 150 electric buses in the Mumbai MMR region
This development is critical for City Flo, which currently operates over 450 diesel buses in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and Thane. According to company representatives, the company intends to increase its fleet to over 1,600 buses within the next two years and has announced plans to electrify 20% of its fleet by the end of FY 26.
Urban Glide will operate buses under a per-kilometer gross contract model, eliminating the need for transport operators to invest in purchasing electric buses, which typically cost between RS 1.5 crore and ₹3 crore, compared to diesel buses, which range from Rs 60 lakh to Rs 1 crore.
The operator will benefit from lower operational costs, as electric buses have lower energy and maintenance costs, potentially making their overall operational costs more economical in the long run.
City Flo aims to capture a share of the ₹1,00,000 crore mass public mobility market by accelerating the transition from diesel buses to electric vehicles.

Globus Trans Solutions LLP, City Flow’s partner, was established by former BEST transport veterans Victor Nagaonkar and Sunil Solank, who are with the Urban Glide venture targeting the daily transportation needs of over 200 million people in the country with zero-emission, clean and efficiently managed buses, informed the company’s co-founder and CEO, Jerin Venad
Venad emphasised that the formation of Urban Glide demonstrates their commitment to achieving the scale and standards needed at this critical juncture. He stated, “We have seen similar trends in other industries: as regulations change, capital investments rise, and those who can scale effectively become the incumbents.”
