ColorOS 17 Based on Android 17 is Coming to These OPPO, OnePlus and Realme Devices: Check New Features

ColorOS 17 is expected to bring a major change to OPPO’s software ecosystem, as the upcoming Android 17-based interface could extend beyond OPPO smartphones to OnePlus and Realme devices.

The move is part of OPPO’s reported plans to create a more unified software experience across its brands, with OxygenOS and Realme UI potentially making way for ColorOS 17 on eligible devices. While OPPO has yet to officially announce the complete rollout plan, closed beta testing has already begun for select smartphones, offering an early look at what could be in store.

ColorOS 17 Release Timeline

OPPO, OnePlus and Realme have already started testing the next-generation software in select markets. The first major indication came on August 6, when closed beta recruitment began for select devices in China, India, Indonesia and Malaysia.

The closed beta is currently limited to a small number of users, with reports suggesting that testing could continue for around four to five weeks before an open beta rollout begins. The first devices reportedly included the OPPO Find X9 Pro, Reno 15 Pro and Reno 15 Pro Mini, along with the OnePlus 15, OnePlus 15R and Realme GT 8 Pro.

ColorOS 17 is expected to be based on Android 17 and could be officially announced in the coming weeks.

ColorOS 17 Expected Features

Since the software is still in closed beta, details about its new features remain limited. However, early reports and comments from ColorOS executives point towards improvements in performance, efficiency and overall system stability.

The update is also expected to introduce a refreshed visual experience across OPPO, OnePlus and Realme devices. While the core interface could be shared, OnePlus and Realme may retain some brand-specific elements, such as home screen icons and certain settings pages.

Other expected changes include:

Improved core experience: ColorOS 17 is expected to focus on smoother performance, better efficiency and improved system stability.
Redesigned Software Update page: The update screen could feature a transparent section displaying the changelog for the latest software version.

Rounder UI elements: Pop-up menus, buttons and sections within first-party apps could feature more rounded corners.

Enhanced glass and light effects: ColorOS 17 could further build on the Luminous Rendering Engine introduced with ColorOS 16, bringing more prominent glass-like and glowing visual effects.

OnePlus Devices Expected to Get ColorOS 17

OnePlus is also expected to transition to ColorOS with its Android 17 rollout. The expected list includes:

• Flagship: OnePlus 15, 15R, 13, 13R, 13s, 13T, 12, 12R, 11 and Open.
• Nord: OnePlus Nord 6, Nord 5, Nord 4, Nord CE 6, Nord CE 6 Lite and Nord CE 5.
• N series: OnePlus N6 and N6x.
• Pad: OnePlus Pad 4, Pad 3, Pad 2, Pad Lite and Pad Go 2.

OnePlus has reportedly indicated that users could have the option to return to OxygenOS 16 if they are not satisfied with ColorOS 17.

Realme Devices Expected to Get ColorOS 17

Realme could also see a broad ColorOS 17 rollout. The expected eligible models include:

• GT series: Realme GT 8 Pro, GT 8; GT 7, GT 7 Pro, GT 7 Pro Racing, GT 7T; GT 6, GT 6T; GT 5 Pro.

• C series: Realme C85 4G, C83 5G, C85 Pro, C83; C75, C75x, C73, C71.
