Apple’s Liquid Glass design language has become one of the biggest software design trends since the arrival of iOS 26, and Oppo is taking notes. A new leak suggests ColorOS 17 may introduce more liquid glass-like interface elements, dynamic lighting effects, and smoother animations as part of a broader visual overhaul.

The latest information comes from tipster Digital Chat Station, who claims Oppo is preparing a noticeable visual refresh for ColorOS 17.

Oppo May Be Focusing on the Look and Feel This Time

According to the leak, ColorOS 17 could introduce more liquid glass-like design elements throughout the interface. Menus, pop-ups, and system pages may get a cleaner and more unified appearance, with greater consistency in how rounded corners and visual effects are applied.

The goal seems to be making the software feel more cohesive rather than dramatically changing how it works.

Another change reportedly in development is a new set of lighting and rendering effects. Notifications, quick alerts, music controls, and Oppo’s Dynamic Island-style interface could all gain subtle visual touches that react in real time.

There’s no footage of these features yet, but the leak suggests Oppo wants interactions across the system to feel a bit more fluid and polished.

Some Users May Notice Familiar Design Influences

One detail that stands out is the claim that ColorOS 17 could lean further into Apple-inspired design ideas.

That’s not entirely surprising. Smartphone software platforms have increasingly borrowed visual concepts from one another over the years. The bigger question is how Oppo adapts those ideas while keeping ColorOS distinct from competing Android skins.

Without official screenshots, it’s still too early to know exactly how these changes will look in practice.

It’s Not Just About Visual Changes

Earlier leaks from February suggested that Oppo is also working on performance improvements behind the scenes.

The reported upgrades include better CPU resource management, improved memory handling, and stronger app retention during multitasking. If those changes make the final release, users may notice fewer app reloads and more consistent performance during everyday use.

The camera experience could also receive some attention. Previous reports claimed Oppo is aiming for smoother zoom transitions when switching focal lengths during photography and video recording.

None of these features have been confirmed by the company, but together they suggest Oppo is trying to improve both the appearance and responsiveness of the software.

Expected to Debut With the Find X10 Series

ColorOS 17 is expected to arrive first on the upcoming Oppo Find X10 series, which is rumored to launch in China this October.

That’s likely when Oppo will officially reveal the software, showcase its new features, and announce which existing devices are eligible for the update.

Until then, the leaks suggest ColorOS 17 may be shaping up as a refinement-focused release, one that puts equal emphasis on visual consistency and day-to-day usability.
