A new rumor suggests that Capcom plans on bringing Devil May Cry 5 to Nintendo Switch 2. Since launching last June, Nintendo Switch 2 has seen a number of third-party ports of games that weren’t possible on the original Switch. Publishers have been playing catch-up since the system launched, bringing over games like Star Wars: Outlaws, Final Fantasy 7: Remake, and Cyberpunk 2077. If it was released on PlayStation or Xbox in the last few years and skipped Switch, it seems like there’s a good chance it will come to Nintendo Switch 2.

Right from the start, Capcom seems to be one of the biggest supporters of Nintendo Switch 2. The publisher released several games on the original Switch, but the vast majority were compilations or ports of significantly older games. That situation has drastically changed in a short amount of time, with more recent games like Resident Evil Village and Street Fighter 6 being ported to Switch 2, while brand-new titles like Resident Evil Requiem and Pragmata have been slated to arrive on the same day they launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. On top of all that, Capcom has partnered with Nintendo on several amiibo figures for its Switch 2 games.

On YouTube, leaker Nate the Hate claimed that Capcom plans on bringing Devil May Cry 5 to Nintendo Switch 2. The 2019 Capcom game debuted on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and was very well received upon its release. Devil May Cry 5 has sold more than 10 million copies and has also won several awards. While Capcom has not confirmed the game for Nintendo Switch 2, it would make sense for multiple reasons.

On top of the fact that Devil May Cry 5 is already a popular entry in the series, Capcom has also released multiple DMC games on the original Switch. Following the recording of Nate the Hate’s new video, a leak from Taiwan’s rating board was discovered, also suggesting that Devil May Cry 5 is coming to Nintendo Switch 2. That makes this rumor all the more plausible, but fans of the series should wait for confirmation from Capcom before getting too excited.

The game features multiple playable characters, including Dante, Nero, and V. A Devil May Cry 5 special edition added Vergil as a fourth playable character in 2020 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Presumably, that content will be offered from the start on Nintendo Switch 2, similar to how Capcom has handled ports like Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. Devil May Cry 5 is the most recent numbered entry, and Capcom has been quiet about the future of the series ever since.

Over the last few years, there has been speculation that a sixth DMC game is in development. Bringing Devil May Cry 5 to Switch 2 could be a smart way for Capcom to start building interest, especially if a potential DMC 6 were to be released on Nintendo’s new system alongside PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

The rumor about Devil May Cry 5 was revealed as part of a broader discussion by Nate the Hate about games coming to Nintendo Switch 2 throughout the rest of 2026. In addition to Capcom’s 2019 game, a new Star Fox and a remake of Ocarina of Time are rumored for Nintendo Switch 2. If all of these leaks turn out to be accurate, Nintendo Switch 2 owners should be pretty happy about the system’s lineup. For now, fans will have to wait patiently to see what gets revealed by Nintendo and its partners. However, it seems like the rest of 2026 could reward those who upgraded from the original Switch.
