While some games will release in December, November 2025 will be the last really packed month. The year has already produced more than enough new open-world games to keep somebody busy until the end of 2026, but the releases will not stop coming. Compared to October’s lineup, the upcoming month does not have as many big names; however, roughly the same number of projects are slated to drop, even if they are more niche.

Due to being more unknown, it is hard to predict which of the November 2025 open-world games will prove to be the pick of the bunch, and you might miss out on something that fits your preference due to the sheer volume of releases happening every single day. Therefore, let’s go through all the confirmed titles slated for the month that will, hopefully, leave their mark on the genre.

    • The games are in release order.
    • Only games with confirmed release dates will be included.
    • Ports and expansions are listed separately.
    • Games that are unlikely to have 100% traditional open-worlds are listed separately.
    • No mobile games.

    Tales of Old: Dominus

Open-World Medieval Game With Base Building

An ambitious indie game that looks to combine a medieval fantasy setting with real-time action combat, stealth, RPG customization, and base building, Tales of Old: Dominus has garnered a bit of momentum throughout the year. The story is all about revenge, as you step into the shoes of a survivor who is looking to get back at the nobles responsible for burning down his home, a process that will see you lead a rebellion and revitalize villages. Tales of Old: Dominus sounds fantastic on paper, although it remains to be seen whether all of its elements combine to create a cohesive whole. A demo of an earlier build was temporarily released in May 2025, and it was rough but showed potential.

    Honeycomb: The World Beyond

    Survive In A Gorgeous Sandbox

Honeycomb: The World Beyond looks stunning, bringing to life an alien planet that has unique flora, fauna, and wildlife. Unlike many of its contemporaries, Honeycomb opts for vibrant and colorful visuals, along with a first-person perspective. As a bioengineer stranded on Sota7, your goal is not just to survive, but also to thrive, discover, learn, and create. Along with exploring this beautiful world and avoiding death, you will be able to expand your base of operations, so the game should have a base-building aspect.

    Of Ash and Steel

An Action RPG In A Dark Fantasy Open-World

One of November 2025’s most highly anticipated open-world games, Of Ash and Steel takes cues from classic RPGs like Gothic, so expect a fairly difficult experience that does not try to walk you through the experience. With no marker system, the game requires players to explore a rundown medieval kingdom that has seen better days, while gradually mastering combat that features different stances and sk8ills. You will need to make allies, but also show caution to avoid an avoidable death. Of Ash and Steel incorporates survival elements, such as hunger, quite extensively, which may not be to everyone’s taste.

    BattleGroupVR2

A Universe In The Palm Of Your Hands

Now, here is something wildly different from every other November 2025 open-world game. As suggested by its title, BattleGroupVR2 requires a virtual reality headset, and it will be coming to both Steam and Meta. People who played the first game probably know what to expect from the sequel, but BattleGroupVR2 should be impressive. This real-time strategy game not only puts you in a fleet’s hot seat but also makes you engage in battles directly, requiring you to make decisions in the heat of the moment and not just as a god-like figure from above. Generally, RTS projects have open-ended maps rather than conventional open-worlds, but BattleGroupVR2 specifically promotes an open-world as a procedurally generated galaxy.

    Sword of Justice

A Free Open-World MMO Makes The Jump From Mobile

While it has been available on Android and iOS devices since 2023, Sword of Justice will make its Steam debut on November 7, 2025. Proudly announcing that it is free of grind and Play-2-Win elements, this free-to-play game should have great visuals and a rich setting based on Eastern culture. Sword of Justice promises an experience that rewards both casual and competitive players, allowing everyone to pick a playstyle that works best for them. There is even an NPC companion system designed to allow solo players to tackle dungeons that would usually require a party. Sounds good to me.

    Skopje ’83

A Zombie Shooter With Roguelite World

Standing out from the crowd with a comic book art style, Skopje ’83 is eye-catching and has the potential to be among November 2025’s nicest surprises. You must explore a zombie-infested city while upgrading a bus, collecting loot, and managing things like hunger, as this is a survival game (albeit with a story and a sense of mystery). An interesting feature is that the world should change whenever you die, so you cannot just repeat the same playthrough. It should help keep things fresh in the long run.

    Winter Burrow

The Most Adorable Open-World Game Protagonist Ever

November 2025 has arguably too many open-world survival games, but you will not mistake Winter Burrow for any of the others. Similar to Don’t Starve, the game is played from an isometric angle and drops players in the heart of a snow-laden wilderness, challenging them to craft, build, and live their best lives. Also, you play as (and customize) the most adorable mouse to ever exist, who is trying to fix up their home and find their missing aunt. Although part of the survival genre, the game is specifically aiming for a cozy vibe, so it should not be extremely hard.

    Dynasthir

    Soulslike Open-World Game

Dynasthir is going to try the hard task of combining Soulslike gameplay with open-world design, a blend that has only been attempted a couple of times by this point. Taking a no-hand-holding approach, the game will leave you to your own devices in a world that has no time for the living. While fairly typical for the Soulslike genre, the combat is quite fast-paced and varied, and the same can be said for the customization.

    Where Winds Meet

    November 2025’s Biggest Open-World Game

Without question, Where Winds Meet is November’s most hyped-up open-world game, and it is not difficult to understand why. For one, Everstone and NetEase’s game will be free-to-play, which will at least lower the barrier of entry and attract folks who might otherwise have been on the fence. Secondly, the action RPG has visuals that could put to shame most AAA projects, along with a beautiful world that takes players back to Ancient China. The rhythm-based wuxia combat looks to combine melee, ranged, and magic seamlessly, and the available footage showcases fluid movement and impactful animation. Honestly, Where Winds Meet looks almost too good to be true, but it will hopefully live up to its great potential.

    Sacred 2 Remaster

Bringing Back An Action RPG Classic

The last Sacred game came out in 2014, and Sacred 3 was not particularly well-regarded. Nowadays, the series is primarily remembered for Sacred 2, a great Diablo-like hack-and-slash romp with a pretty huge world that can be explored relatively freely, by the standards of traditional isometric action RPGs. Sacred 2 Remaster will look to introduce the game to a new audience while providing the ultimate experience for die-hard fans craving a rerun.
