The Simpsons Mini-Season is over, and Fortnite Chapter 7: Pacific Break is here, catapulting players into one of the longest seasons in recent times, along with one of the biggest launches yet. From a cartoon mashup, an epic event that concluded the Chapter 6 storyline, and the launch of another story that brings The Seven and The Last Reality front and center, players definitely have an exciting chapter ahead of them.

A lot has changed from the last season to Chapter 7 Season 1, and while players may want to dive in headfirst, there are definitely a few things eagle-eyed players may have missed. Luckily, we have gathered information both in-game and from Fortnite’s official blog to make the transition smoother. From an overview of the Chapter 7 map to the content that is yet to come later down the line, here is everything new in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 1.

Welcome to Golden Coast (New Map)

The first major change entering Fortnite Chapter 7 is a new map. Enter Golden Coast, a return to a larger-scale battleground right off the back of The Simpsons Mini-Season, complete with 100 total players per match for some classic Battle Royale action. Golden Coast will be the map players play on for the remainder of Chapter 7, but expect new POIs to come and go as the seasons progress.

However, as of Chapter 7 Season 1, the way players deploy to the island has changed. Instead of dropping in via the Battle Bus, players will surf toward the coast at a random point from the outskirts of the map and then launch into the air when they are close enough. Though this heavily limits which locations players can land at, the Battle Bus is set to return in some capacity on December 4 when Reload and Blitz Royale come back.

Speaking of other modes, Reload and Blitz cannot be played until December 4. Blitz Royale will launch with the brand-new map, Starfall Island, while Reload gets an additional map of its own: Surf City. On the other hand, players will need to wait until December 11 to play Fortnite OG Season 7 and Delulu.

    New Battle Pass Updates

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 1 Battlepass Showcase

A new season of Fortnite always means a new Battle Pass for Battle Royale, with Chapter 7 Season 1 packed to the brim with cosmetics, including 8 new skins, each with various styles, 1,200 V-Bucks to earn, pickaxes, and much more. However, the Battle Pass system this time around has gone through some major updates.

Visually, the Battle Pass looks a little different, with each page divided up by each of the eight character sets, plus a Bonus Rewards section that players cannot access until they complete the main Battle Pass. Each of the eight main pages allows players to unlock rewards in any order they wish, so long as they reach the required level and unlock additional rewards on the previous page. Of course, certain rewards, like the main skin for each page, also require players to unlock all other rewards on that page beforehand, but in terms of which page you begin unlocking rewards from, the choice is mostly yours.

That’s not all, though, as certain characters in the Battle Pass also have additional styles that can be earned through quests. For instance, Cat Holloway has her own set of additional rewards earned through playing Blitz Royale once the mode is active again, which includes two additional styles for her skin along with her other cosmetics. Different character questlines can be completed in each mode, encouraging players to jump between Battle Royale, Reload, and Blitz.

The Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 1 Loot Pool

A new chapter and season would not be complete without an overhaul to the loot pool. As far as items from The Simpsons Mini-Season go, most of the weapons and items have been completely vaulted in favor of new weapons never seen before, along with a couple of unvaulted items from previous seasons. Here is a detailed breakdown of all the items in the Chapter 7 Season 1 loot pool:

Become the Boss & Wield New Mythics

Bosses have been a staple in Fortnite for a long time, usually offering their own Mythic weapon upon defeat. Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 1 changes things. Now, each boss on the island not only drops their Mythic weapon, but also drops a Play as Boss Transform, an item that turns the player into the boss they defeated. When activated, this gives the player a unique ability, increased health and shield, and summons henchmen to assist them.

Play as Boss Transforms take up an item slot when equipped, cannot be dropped, and will be destroyed when the holder is eliminated. Similar to standard Medallions, the holder of the item will be marked on the map, but only when players are close enough. The bosses players can transform into are as follows:

    Hush

    • Wield Hush’s Deadeye Assault Rifle and Hush’s Kit. When active, Hush’s Kit bestows Zero Dashes to the player, allowing them to teleport forward a short distance.

    Beach Brutus

    Human Bill

    • Fry loopers with Human Bill’s Arc-Lightning Gun and Human Bill’s Kit. Once active, Human Bill’s Kit gives players the Low Gravity Effect for a short duration, doubling as a mobility item.

Some Old & New Vehicles Cruise the Island

Reboot Vans in Fortnite Chapter 7 via Epic Games / Fortnite

All Terrain Karts are back in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 1, arriving alongside the standard SUVs and Sports Cars. However, that is not all, as the standard Reboot Vans have received an overhaul and are now fully drivable.

Drivable Reboot Vans enter the fray, giving players a mobile transport option that can also reboot eliminated teammates. Downed players can also be automatically revived by getting into the back of both drivable and stationary Reboot Vans, making it much easier to get back into the fight.

    Movement Features & Quality-of-Life Updates

Where to find Human Bill's Arc-Lightning Gun (& Human Bill's Kit) in Fortnite -2

Finishing off the last bit of updates for Chapter 7, Season 1 is a roster of quality of life updates and improvements to the game’s movement, allowing for a much smoother experience when playing Fortnite. Here is a rundown of all these quality-of-life updates:

    • The ability to roll while downed to reach a safe spot, along with tumble mechanics that allow players to roll down slopes and step terrain more effectively.
    • The ability to move faster when downed through the use of the sprint button. Players are also able to use ziplines and ascenders while knocked.
    • The ability to aim and shoot while jumping.
    • Reduced aggression from AI after shooting them.
    • Two additional slots were added to the Emote Wheel to support up to 8 total emotes. Filtering improvements have also been made.
    • Automatically spectate your nearest teammate after being eliminated.
    • Simple Build: limits builds to just two keybinds. The building you place depends on the direction you are looking in.
    • Gold Bars now reset to zero after each match. Gold Bar drop rates have been significantly increased.
    • Rift Anomalies: A random match modifier will be applied in Battle Royale. Ranges anywhere from being invisible when crouching and standing still, Rifts spawning in great numbers for fast travel, a second life, and more.
