The way PS Plus works, the new monthly free games are typically announced on the Wednesday preceding the first Tuesday of the following month. However, Sony announced the free PS Plus games for October 2025 a week in advance, using its latest State of Play event to make the reveal. This means PS Plus subscribers have known what the October free games are longer than usual.
Thankfully, the wait for the free PS Plus games for October 2025 is at an end, and subscribers can now claim the games for their digital libraries. As previously announced by Sony, the free PS Plus games for October 2025 are Remedy Entertainment’s critically-acclaimed, award-winning horror game Alan Wake 2, the mind-bending puzzle game Cocoon, and the hilarious co-op sandbox game Goat Simulator 3. PS Plus subscribers have until November 3 to claim these free games, so they should be sure to do so while they’re up for grabs. As a reminder, free PS Plus games are available to subscribers indefinitely as long as they are signed up for the service.

The official October 2025 lineup for PS Plus Extra and Premium will most likely be announced next Wednesday, October 15, and then added on Tuesday, October 21. A reliable leaker has claimed that one of the new games will be the Silent Hill 2 remake for the Extra tier, which would be perfect for the spooky season and pair nicely with Alan Wake 2 on the Essential tier.
We do know of at least two classic games coming to PS Plus Premium at some point this year, but it’s unclear if they will be added this month, next month, or in December. At the same State of Play where the monthly free PS Plus games were announced, Sony confirmed that Tekken 3 and Soulcalibur 3 are both on deck for PS Plus Premium. Clarification on when exactly those games will be added should come sooner rather than later.
