Xbox owners can get a free game that can net over 3,000G worth of easy achievements. For Xbox and PC gamers who pride themselves on high Gamerscores, this is an easy opportunity to score some points.

On November 25, Xbox got a new game in the form of Card Storm Idle, a free-to-play card game that “blends idle progression with active strategy.” The game has been available on Steam since 2023, but this is the first time that it’s arrived on the Xbox family of consoles and been made available through Microsoft’s PC game store. While the achievements can be earned almost on auto-pilot, the process is a little convoluted.

I Marathoned All 18 Xbox 360 Launch Titles for the 20th Anniversary and Here’s My Official Ranking

The Xbox 360 is officially 20 years, and to celebrate, I replayed all the games that were available for it at launch back in 2005.

New Free Game Nets Up to 3,000G in Easy Achievements

A bunch of Xbox games just added easy achievements

In order to earn 3,000G in achievements, players will need to access three different versions of Card Storm Idle. By default, the title has 1,000G in achievements to earn, but players can stack those points across the Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC versions of the game, which are all free. However, this does mean players will need an Xbox Series X/S and a PC in order to net all 3,000G. The game only has 10 achievements total, which are all easy to unlock, and the process can be completed in less than 30 minutes. Players will need to replay the game on all three platforms in order to earn the full 3,000. Players should be able to clear the achievements in this idle game across the three systems in less than a couple hours without much effort.

Card Storm Idle lets players build an idle deck that does all the work for the player, allowing them to essentially watch the achievements roll in. At first, players have to click enemies in order to defeat them. However, as they earn gold and gems by defeating levels, they can unlock new cards that increase their click damage and do automatic damage to enemies. Achievements begin the moment a player unlocks their first card.

While there’s plenty of games out there that have crushingly difficult achievements, there are also lots that players can quickly farm to get Gamerscore. Indie games are especially popular for this purpose. For example, there’s Smart Moves 2, in which players can unlock all achievements in a few minutes just by defeating weak enemies and opening chests while repeating introductory levels. Another example is Butterfly, which players can rapidly earn 1,000G by simply booting up each level, with no need for actual progression. If they purchase the DLC, that number can be increased to 4,000G with the same technique.

Players who don’t want to spend any money in order to improve their Gamerscore have plenty to look into, as well. Free games often include achievements, and some of them are pretty easy to complete. On Xbox, players can earn 1,000 to 1,200 Gamerscore by playing free games like Aimlabs, Tech Glitch, and Ping Redux. Subscribers to Game Pass should also make sure to check out the free games offered every month, as many of them offer quick achievements or achievements that can be unlocked simply by playing through the game casually.

Over the years, achievements have become a major part of gaming for most gamers, as they’ve been widely available across Xbox, PlayStation, and PC platforms. While some Nintendo games have kept track of what players achieve, allowing them to do things like unlock new stickers or characters in Super Smash Bros., there’s no global system for achievement tracking. A recent rumor indicated that Nintendo could get achievements like its competitors in the near future, but whether that’s accurate remains to be seen.
