Players need to spend a lot of time looking after their Alters in The Alters. This constant care comes in many forms, such as cooking hot meals, building modules, and giving them different collectible souvenirs that are scattered across the planet’s surface. In Act 2, players will have an optional task called Green Refuge. Where to Find Something to Comfort the Technician in The Alters’ Green Refuge Task
Venture Towards the Trees
To find the Holo Disc, players need to first head from their base into the northwest corner of the map, where they may have already found a Minerals deep deposit behind an Energy Wall. To reach this point, players need to scale a High Climb, make their way through the aforementioned Energy Wall, and then follow the path around to where they’ll find a park bench with a container on the floor next to it. These are the same containers players have found other collectible items in throughout their adventure so far.
It’s worth noting that players will need to have extra Suit Batteries to reach the area. This is because the Energy Wall will deplete the suit’s battery when walked through. Players will also want to research ‘Cheaper Climbing’ as this makes both Medium and High Climbs 50% cheaper in terms of battery energy usage.
Players will also need to have the upgraded Grappling Hook unlocked to scale the High Climb. It’s also worth researching this as soon as possible, as it’s also required for placing a Gravity Sensor in one of the main tasks. It’s also just a handy tool to explore the planet.
Pick up the Holo Disc from the container and return to the base. Players can now research the Park with Bench module from their Research Lab. This will take 10 hours to research and costs 40 Metals and 60 Minerals to craft. With the Park with Bench module crafted, players need to go inside and speak to Jan Technician. After the conversation, players will have completed the Green Refuge task in The Alters and can continue with their adventure knowing that they’ve made one of their Alters a little bit happier.
