While exploring the islands of Palworld, you will come across many treasure chests filled with valuable loot ranging from delicious food items to rare Pal Spheres. Among the various treasures, you will often find accessories like the Life Pendant
, Defense Pendant
, and Multiclimate Undershirt. There are also many craftable accessories, such as Jump Boots.
Even though Palworld offers over 50 different accessory items, players start with only two accessory slots. Quality-of-life accessories, such as the Multiclimate Undershirt—which eliminates the need to switch armors when traveling between hot and cold regions—or Jump and Dash Boots, which provide extra actions for combat and exploration, are obvious picks for your accessory slots. Because of the limited slots, you might end up carrying extra accessories in your inventory and swapping them as needed. Fortunately, if you are not a fan of constant switching, Palworld offers a way to expand accessory slots. Here’s how you can do it.

How to Unlock More Accessory Slots in Palworld
To unlock extra accessory slots, you need to purchase two items: the Mysterious Accessory Box and the Box of Mysterious Accessories from Medal Merchants. Each item increases your accessory slots by one. Purchasing both will bring your total accessory slots to four.
Before looking for Medal Merchants, you must collect a special currency called Dog Coins. Unlike most merchants, Medal Merchants do not accept regular gold coins. You need 100 Dog Coins for the Mysterious Accessory Box and 1,000 Dog Coins for the Box of Mysterious Accessories. Both items are key items, so you only need to purchase them once.
How to Get Dog Coins in Palworld
There are several ways to acquire Dog Coins in Palworld, but the most efficient method is farming rare Pals called Mimog. Mimog is a chest-shaped Pal found on islands such as Sakurajima Island, Twilight Dunes, Bamboo Groves, and Mount Obsidian. When defeated, Mimog guarantees a drop of around 15–20 Dog Coins.
However, defeating Mimog is easier said than done. Once attacked, it will quickly run away at an unmatched pace and disappear. Moreover, Mimog mimics a stationary chest, making it even harder to spot. The best strategy is to one-shot it or deal significant damage to stun it, giving you enough time to finish it off.
For better results, use a fast mount and explore desert regions near Sakurajima Island and Twilight Dunes at night. At night, Pals emit a glowing aura, and the flat, white desert makes Mimog easier to spot.
Here are some other ways to get Dog Coins:
- Scavenging junk piles on islands (commonly found near beaches).
- Completing Sakurajima Expeditions.
- Looting chests that require Pals with specific work suitabilities.
- Looting chests in the Oil Rig Stronghold.
Where to Find Medal Merchants in Palworld
Medal Merchants are rare NPCs who sell accessories and cosmetics in exchange for Dog Coins. These NPCs resemble Black Marketeers but wear yellow robes instead of black. You can find Medal Merchants inside church ruins at the following locations:
- Desolate Church (63, -416)
- Sea Breeze Archipelago Church (-73, -551)
- Marsh Island Church (399, -276)
- Forgotten Island Church (-461, -13)
When you find a Medal Merchant, interact with them to access their shop and purchase the Mysterious Accessory Box and Box of Mysterious Accessories to unlock two additional accessory slots.
If you do not find a Medal Merchant at one of these locations, try visiting another church or roaming near the listed coordinates until the NPC spawns. The Medal Merchant does not always appear immediately.
