Huawei Mate 80 and Mate 80 Pro Launched with Kirin SoC and 2.5D Flat Display

Huawei has launched its much-anticipated Mate 80 series in China, featuring the Mate 80 and Mate 80 Pro. These flagship phones offer significant advancements in camera systems, display quality, and security. Huawei continues to push the boundaries of premium smartphone innovation with these new models.

The Mate 80 series boasts a remarkable 6.9-inch 1.5K 120Hz LTPO OLED display with dual-layer tandem technology. This screen provides outstanding visuals with impressive brightness levels, reaching a peak of 8000 nits locally. It also supports 4500 nits at a 20% window and 200 nits HBM for great visibility outdoors.

Camera Innovations: Mate 80 Focus

Focusing on photography, the Mate 80 presents a versatile camera setup. It features a 50MP main camera with a variable aperture ranging from f/1.4 to f/4.0, equipped with the SC550XS sensor. This model also includes a 40MP ultra-wide camera and a 12MP RYYB periscope telephoto lens, offering 5.5x optical zoom. A 13MP front camera with 3D face recognition is also part of the package.

Enhanced Imaging: Mate 80 Pro

The Mate 80 Pro elevates imaging capabilities with a larger main sensor and improved telephoto performance. It houses a 50MP main camera with a 1/1.28″ sensor, using the advanced SC580XS sensor. The Pro version also includes a 40MP RYYB ultra-wide camera and a 48MP periscope telephoto lens with 4x optical zoom, along with the 13MP front camera for secure 3D face unlock.

Both models are designed with premium features like 3D face recognition for secure biometric access. They are equipped with advanced eye-safety features, including 1440Hz PWM dimming and a 300Hz Touch Sampling Rate, enhancing user comfort and interaction.
