Halloween is an important time in the world of Fallout 76. The bombs fell on October 23, meaning that buildings all across Appalachia are left to rot with their Halloween decorations still hanging in their windows and on their porches. For the most part, Halloween tends to be a very busy time in Fallout 76.

Fallout 76: 8 Events That Give The Best Rewards
Players will come across a lot of goodies throughout Fallout 76’s many events. These examples offer some of the best rewards.
The devs like to bring in a couple of events for players to take part in. The main one that players look forward to is the Spooky Scorched event. This limited-timed event sees players hunting all over Appalachia in the hopes of finding some Spooky Scorched enemies. This guide will go through all there is to know about the Spooky Scorched event, including locations to find Spooky Scorched and rewards available during this Fallout 76 seasonal event.
What Are Spooky Scorched In Fallout 76?
Similar to Holiday Scorched, Spooky Scorched are special scorched enemies that are dressed in outfits and emit a noise when the player gets close to them. Spooky Scorched enemies will always be legendary enemies, making this a great event for farming legendary weapons and armor pieces. There’s a 55% chance for a Spooky Scorched enemy to be a 1-star enemy, a 40% chance for it to be a 2-star enemy, and just 5% of them being a 3-star enemy.
Not every Scorched enemy will be a Spooky Scorched variant. Players will need to keep an eye out for ones dressed up in Halloween outfits. These can spawn anywhere that regular Scorched enemies spawn. That said, Spooky Scorched enemies can’t spawn in an instance. An instance is an interior that players load into that is solely for them. The same goes for Daily Ops. If the enemies in a Daily Operation are Scorched, you won’t find any Spooky Scorched enemies, as they can’t spawn in this game mode. Spooky Scorched can be found throughout the map in all outside locations.
The audio cue that the Spooky Scorched emit is a spooky sound that gets louder the closer the player gets to the Spooky Scorched enemy. This makes it pretty easy to find them. That said, if you are having a hard time hearing them, take a look at your audio settings and turn down the ingame music — then, you’ll be able to hear the audio from the Spooky Scorched clearly.
When killed, not only does a Spooky Scorched enemy drop a legendary item, but it will also drop a Spooky Treat Bag. This bag contains a whole host of goodies for the player, with the potential to contain some rare and highly sought-after rewards.
Best Locations For Finding Spooky Scorched
By default, every Scorched Enemy has a 10% chance of being a Spooky Scorched enemy during this event. Because of this, you’ll have the highest chances at finding more Spooky Scorched in locations that have lots of Scorched enemies.
While most places that spawn scorched can be pretty fruitful, there are a few locations that stand head and shoulders above the rest in terms of the number of Scorched enemies that spawn. These places can be seen below:
- Palace Of The Winding Path
- Morgantown Airport
- Tyler County Fairgrounds
- Wavy Willard’s Water Park
- Bolton Greens
- Camden Park
- Helvetia
- Sutton
- Overlook Cabin
- Summersville Docks
- Ay Fissure Site
Because Spooky Scorched enemies have an audio cue, you won’t need to search the whole area to find them. Instead, you can just run through the area listening for that spooky sound. If you hear the sound, follow it and kill the Spooky Scorched enemy. If not, simply fast travel to another location or another server and continue your hunt.

Best Events For Finding Spooky Scorched In Fallout 76
There are lots of events that can spawn Scorched enemies. However, there are some that spawn a lot more than others. The best ones to look out for can be seen below:
- Scorched Earth
- Scorched Horde Events
- Line In The Sand
- Distant Thunder
- Surface To Air
- Protest March
- Census Violence
There is also an event that can be triggered by the player: Collision Course.
This event can be triggered every 30 minutes on any given server. Collision Course requires the player to take down a total of five waves of Scorched enemies at the bottom end of Morgantown Airport.
Players can expect to find anywhere from 3-7 Spooky Scorched enemies during the Collision Course event. Since it’s an event that can be triggered by the player, it’s a great event to grind. Simply hop onto a server, complete the event, and then head to a new server to start up another one. Grinding this event is much easier if you have a Fallout 1st Subscription as it gives you access to a private server.

Spooky Treat Bag Rewards In Fallout 76
There are lots of rewards inside Spooky Treat Bags. That said, most of the rewards are basic things like contextual ammo, alcohol, grenades, and pre-war snacks. One other thing that players will get is Halloween candy. While this candy can be eaten, its primary purpose is to be used in candy bowls.
For the past few Halloweens, there have been challenges centered around handing out candy at your CAMP (and taking candy from other players’ CAMPS). Completing these challenges awards the player with some nice items, mostly some desirable consumables like lunchboxes. Throughout the Spooky Scorched event, players can claim a free candy bowl in the Atomic Shop. It’s important to keep your candy bowl topped up with candy, so there’s enough for every visiting player. Also, it’s very important to place your candy bowl in an easy to see location. If you have it hidden away somewhere, then players will give up and head to another CAMP.
For the best results, place your bowl next to
your CAMP Vendors
on a table with some lights around it to highlight it.
As for the more desirable rewards, players have a small chance of receiving some rare rewards when opening a Spooky Treat Bag. First are the outfits. While not particularly rare, there are lots of outfits that can be found inside Spooky Treat bags. These can be traded and sold to other players. Out of all the outfits, the ones that are worth the most can be seen below:
- Pirate Costume
- Pirate Costume Hat
- Jack O’Lantern Pant Suit
- Jack O’Lantern Short Suit
- Rooster Gas Mask
- Bear Gas Mask
- Gazelle Gas Mask
If you find any of the outfits mentioned above, don’t get too excited; players typically won’t pay more than a couple of hundred caps per piece.
As the event goes on, the value of the items above will decrease, so it’s normally best to sell them early on.
