TELANGANA, HYDERABAD, 26th May 2025: With a total investment of Rs 8528 crores, Korean automaker Hyundai announced plans to establish a Global Innovation Research and Development Centre at the National Investment and Manufacturing Zone (NIMZ) in Zaheerabad, Telangana.
This was confirmed in a media briefing by Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu, Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, and other high-ranking government officials.

The project is said to be located on 675 acres of land in Zaheerabad and will include a pilot line, an automotive test track, and prototyping platforms.
The state government’s Industrial Promotion Sub-Committee approved the project, which will boost state revenue and create jobs for 4,276 local youth, senior ministers told the media.
Other corporate representatives who were present said it was a proud moment for Telangana and a major step forward for the state’s mobility ecosystem.
The state-of-the-art facility will include a press stamping tool shop, a pilot centre, and cutting-edge testing facilities for Hyundai and Kia Motors.
According to company officials, the historic investment not only demonstrates Hyundai’s dedication to innovation but also establishes Telangana as a centre for cutting-edge automotive research and development worldwide.
