Apple is gearing up for the launch of its first iPhone in 2026 this month. The iPhone 17e is reportedly coming this month and if reports are to be believed, it is set to get some major upgrades over its predecessor. The model is expected to sit below the regular iPhone 17, offering a modern design, upgraded internals, and better cameras while keeping prices lower than Apple’s main flagship line.

According to reports, the iPhone 17e launch date in India and globally is expected to take place on February 19, a day after the release of the Pixel 10a. The iPhone 17e is also expected to debut as the first product in Apple’s 2026 hardware roadmap.

The iPhone 17e price in the US is expected to start from $599 (roughly Rs 54,300). Moreover, the iPhone 17e price in India could start from anywhere between Rs 60,000 to Rs 65,000. To recall, the iPhone 16e price in India started at Rs 59,999 at the time of its launch but is currently available for as low as Rs 52,390.
iPhone 17e Specifications: Big Upgrades Expected
Apple is expected to use a 6.1-inch OLED screen with slim bezels and the Dynamic Island cut-out. However, the display may keep a 60Hz refresh rate, which means there is no ProMotion support. The iPhone 17e is expected to include the new C1X cellular modem, along with the N1 chip that supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Thread connections.
Powering the iPhone 17e will likely be a tuned-down A19 chip that prioritises efficiency and on-device AI tasks. Leaks suggest 8GB RAM across variants. Globally, base storage could start from 256GB, but India may still receive a 128GB entry option, keeping the initial price barrier relatively lower for local buyers.
Camera upgrades on the iPhone 17e also appear significant for this segment. Leaked details mention a 48MP primary rear camera, which should help with detail and low-light shots. On the front, an 18MP selfie camera is expected, aimed at clearer video calls and sharper social media photos compared to previous budget iPhone models.
Battery capacity on the iPhone 17e is tipped to be around 4,000mAh, paired with fast wired charging and 25W MagSafe wireless charging support.
