iQOO appears to be gearing up for its next major flagship smartphone launch in India. The company’s India CEO, Nipun Marya, has shared a cryptic teaser on X, hinting at an upcoming flagship device. Although the post does not reveal the smartphone’s name, its timing has fuelled speculation that the iQOO 16 could be headed to the Indian market following its reported China debut in September 2026.
The teaser features the line “A query is running…” alongside on-screen text such as “Find the next flagship”, “WHERE status – ‘stay_tuned'” and “1 result found”. While iQOO has yet to officially confirm the device, the post suggests that the company could announce its next premium smartphone in the coming months.

iQOO 16 India Launch Timeline and Expected Price
The iQOO 16 India launch could take place around December 2026 or early 2027, according to current leaks and speculation surrounding the device. The latest teaser follows earlier reports suggesting that the smartphone had entered testing in India, indicating that the company may be preparing for its next flagship release.
However, iQOO has not announced an official launch date or confirmed the India-specific specifications. The final timeline could become clearer as the company begins its promotional campaign.
In terms of pricing, the iQOO 16 is expected to fall under the Rs 1,00,000 segment in India. This would position it in the premium Android smartphone category, with a focus on flagship performance, gaming capabilities and high-end display technology.
For context, the iQOO 15 starts at Rs 85,999 in India. If the company maintains a similar pricing strategy for its successor, the iQOO 16 could appeal to buyers looking for a premium performance-oriented smartphone without moving into the ultra-premium price bracket. However, the expected price remains speculative until iQOO makes an official announcement.
iQOO 16 Expected Specifications and Features
The iQOO 16 features a 6.85-inch 2K+ M16 LTPO AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 165Hz. The panel supports up to 10,000 nits of local peak brightness, potentially offering improved visibility and vibrant visuals. The high refresh rate should also benefit gaming and everyday scrolling.
Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, paired with a dedicated Q4 gaming chip. This combination is designed to deliver flagship-level performance, with a particular focus on gaming workloads and high-frame-rate gameplay.
On the software front, the iQOO 16 runs OriginOS 7 based on Android 17, bringing the latest software platform to the device.
Battery capacity is another major highlight. The smartphone packs an 8,400mAh battery with support for 100W wired charging and 40W wireless charging. The large battery capacity could make it particularly appealing to users who prioritise extended gaming sessions and all-day usage.
For photography, the iQOO 16 features a triple rear camera setup comprising a 50-megapixel primary camera with optical image stabilisation, a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x zoom. A 32-megapixel front camera handles selfies and video calls.
