The mid-range smartphone segment has seen a growing focus on bigger batteries and faster processors, and iQOO could be preparing another phone around these features. The upcoming iQOO Z12 Lite 5G has now surfaced in a leak, with an upgraded chipset and a massive battery among its expected specifications.

iQOO Z12 Lite 5G could get a major battery upgrade
According to a 91Mobiles report originally attributed to PassionateGeekz, the upcoming iQOO phone could carry the model number I2603. It may also launch as the iQOO Z12 SE 5G in some international markets. Whether the company will use the Z12 Lite name for the Indian market remains unclear, although its previous Z-series launches suggest that this is possible.
One of the biggest expected upgrades is the processor. The iQOO Z12 Lite 5G is tipped to feature the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Turbo chipset, replacing the Dimensity 6300 found in the iQOO Z11 Lite 5G. To remember, the same processor is also used in the iQOO Z11x.
In addition to this, the phone could come with up to 256GB of storage. It is also expected to run Android 16 with iQOO’s OriginOS 6 interface. However, this could be a drawback for those who prefer getting the latest Android version out of the box, especially as some smartphones launching after September are expected to arrive with Android 17.
Battery capacity could be another major selling point. The iQOO Z12 Lite 5G is tipped to pack an 8,000mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging. If this turns out to be true, the phone could offer long battery life for users who spend several hours streaming videos, browsing the internet or playing games.
All other details are kept under wraps for now. However, rumour has it that the smartphone could come with an LCD panel and a 50-megapixel primary rear camera, similar to the iQOO Z11 Lite 5G.
iQOO Z12 Lite 5G launch timeline and expected price
iQOO has not announced a launch date or confirmed the markets where the Z12 Lite 5G will be available. Its expected Indian name is also based on the brand’s previous naming pattern rather than an official announcement.
As per reports, the phone could be positioned above the Rs 25,000 price segment in India. It may sit below the iQOO Z11x in the company’s lineup, although there is no confirmed pricing information yet.
