NEW DELHI, JUNE 27, 2025 — Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta today launched 100 new electric buses from the Narela Terminal as part of the Delhi Electric Vehicle Interconnector (DEVi) project, marking a significant step towards clean mobility. JBM Group has manufactured and supplied 66 of these buses.

With the introduction of these 100 DEVi buses, Delhi is once again setting the standard for environmentally friendly city transportation. A significant change in India’s transport policy is indicated by the state government’s continuous investment in green public transportation, which is in line with smart city development and national climate goals.
A senior official from the Delhi Transport Corporation stated, “This rollout is another step towards a cleaner, smarter, and more inclusive Delhi.”
A wide range of features that are convenient for both drivers and passengers are included in the JBM ECOLIFE electric buses that were unveiled today. A Real-Time Passenger Information System that allows for real-time tracking of bus arrivals and locations will be advantageous to commuters. To guarantee onboard security and discourage misbehaviour, CCTV surveillance has been installed throughout the fleet.
Each bus has stop request buttons so that passengers can indicate when a stop is about to occur, increasing accessibility and convenience. The buses are equipped with Vehicle Health Monitoring Systems, which support proactive maintenance and lower the risk of breakdowns, and Fire Detection and Alarm Systems for increased safety. Crucially, the new buses also provide women with reserved seats, highlighting Delhi’s emphasis on safer and more inclusive public transportation.
With ergonomic dashboards that reduce distraction and enhance visibility and control, drivers also enjoy a well-thought-out experience that complies with international driver safety regulations.

By operating from Nangloi Depot, the recently introduced buses will greatly improve last-mile connectivity in the western and northwest parts of Delhi. In the city’s continuous efforts to electrify its public transportation system, lower vehicle emissions, and enhance urban air quality, the rollout represents a significant turning point.
The world’s largest dedicated electric bus manufacturing facility outside of China was established by JBM Electric Vehicles in response to India’s increasing demand for electric mobility solutions. With an annual production capacity of 20,000 electric buses, the integrated plant, situated in the Delhi-NCR region, allows for extensive deployments throughout Indian cities.
