Lava Shark 2 5G Launch in India Confirmed: Check Confirmed Specs and Features

Lava has officially confirmed the arrival of the Shark 2 5G, the next smartphone in its Shark series lineup. The upcoming device is set to launch in India by the end of May 2026 and will target buyers in the sub-Rs. 15,000 segment.

The company says the phone is designed for users upgrading from feature phones or older 4G smartphones who now want access to 5G connectivity without spending too much.

Large 120Hz Display and All-Day Battery Focus

The Lava Shark 2 5G will feature a 6.75-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Lava says the panel is aimed at offering smoother scrolling, animations, and a better overall viewing experience during everyday usage.

Battery life appears to be one of the key highlights of the device. According to the company, the Shark 2 5G can deliver up to 815 minutes of YouTube playback at 120Hz, which translates to around 13 hours and 35 minutes. Lava also claims up to 743 minutes of screen-on time on a single charge.

While the exact battery capacity hasn’t been revealed yet, the company says the phone is built to comfortably last through a full day of streaming, social media use, gaming, and work.

Chipset Details Yet to Be Revealed

Lava hasn’t officially confirmed the processor powering the Shark 2 5G. However, the company says the chipset has scored over 500,000 points on AnTuTu v11 benchmarks.

That puts the phone in a fairly competitive spot for the budget category, especially for users looking for balanced day-to-day performance alongside 5G support.

IP64 Rating Included

The Shark 2 5G will also come with an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance. That’s still relatively uncommon in the affordable smartphone segment, where many devices skip official protection ratings altogether.

Lava says the phone is being positioned as a practical option focused on the features most buyers actually use daily rather than flashy extras.

The company is expected to reveal the full specifications, design details, pricing, and availability information during the official launch event later this month.
