Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited (MLMML), a well-known manufacturer of commercial electric vehicles in India, has entered the Sri Lankan market in collaboration with its local partner, Evolution Auto.
Evolution will be the authorized distributor for products such as the Treo Auto, Treo Plus, Treo Zor PU, and Treo Zor DV. Evolution is a joint venture between SLA Mobility and Sensai Group in Sri Lanka and will distribute MLMML’s electric vehicles.
Suman Mishra, Managing Director and CEO of MLMML, was joined by Evolution Auto board members Mr. Bob and Dhiren Kundanmal, Mr. Charaka Perera, Mr. Nassar Hammad, Mr. Maas Ramil Mohamed, Group CEO Mr. Virann De Zoysa, and COO Mr. Zaharan Ziyawudeen, to officially open the dealership.
This dealership is located in Peliyagoda, along Colombo Negombo Road. During the launch, Suman Mishra stated that Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited is committed to promoting sustainable mobility solutions in the last-mile sector around the world and is delighted to collaborate with Evolution Auto in Sri Lanka to provide customers with dependable and environmentally friendly transportation options.
Company representatives stated that MLMML has successfully sold over 200,000 commercial electric vehicles in India. Mahindra has led the way in electric vehicle adoption, with over 24% penetration in the L5 auto category in India, up from single-digit figures just a few years ago.
MLMML’s partnership with Evolution Auto aims to electrify Sri Lanka’s commercial transportation sector with its Mahindra electric vehicle lineup, with plans to open multiple dealerships throughout the island nation.
