Sam Porter Bridges will return to once again help Fragile reconnect the ruined world of Death Stranding, this time as part of a new organization named Drawbridge. Joining them in this venture are the Drawbridge Captain Tarman (modeled after Mad Max director George Miller), a robotic puppet named Dollman, and the mysterious girl Tomorrow. Higgs, the villain of the first game, is also back with a new appearance to seek revenge against Sam and Fragile.

Kojima’s newest Death Stranding 2 announcement comes not too long after Sony announced that a new PlayStation State of Play livestream will be held on Wednesday, February 12. While Death Stranding 2’s now-confirmed presence at SXSW 2025 may seem to rule out any news about the game at the upcoming State of Play, a smaller update could still turn up tomorrow. After all, Death Stranding 2 is being published by Sony as a PlayStation 5 exclusive.
There are still plenty of details left to be revealed, including Death Stranding 2’s exact release date. So far, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is only said to be launching sometime this year, but perhaps a more concrete date will be established when Hideo Kojima appears at next month’s South by Southwest convention to shed more light on his upcoming psychological action game.
