Ahmedabad: 7th April 2025
Matter, India’s pioneering manufacturer of geared electric motorcycles, has opened a new manufacturing facility in Changodar, Gujarat, with a capacity of 120,000 units. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel officiated the inauguration and led a comprehensive tour of the factory.
During the event, the state’s Police and Forest Departments received electric motorcycles as part of the product testing process.

In his speech at the launch, CM Patel praised Matter for establishing an electric vehicle (EV) motorcycle manufacturing plant. He mentioned that nearly 800 electric buses are currently in service in the state’s public transportation system, and Gujarat registered 264,000 electric vehicles last year.
“Matter has advanced the ‘Make in India’ initiative by establishing its facility within the ‘Make in Gujarat’ framework, serving as a prime example,” he said.
Mohal Lalbhai, Matter’s Founder and Group CEO, attributed the achievement to Gujarat’s progressive industrial policies. “This Saturday marked a significant milestone in our journey as the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat inaugurated Matter’s manufacturing facility,” Lalbhai stated.
Other company representatives at the launch emphasized that very few Indian companies are not only committed to manufacturing locally, but are also actively developing deep technology in the country. Matter is among these select companies.
Our mission to transform “How India Moves” has been the result of years of research and development, and we are now ready to enter the market. The emphasis going forward will be on effective execution.
While success will be determined over time, one thing is certain: India needs more ambitious ventures, more entrepreneurs who innovate from fundamental principles, and more deep-tech companies that will shape the future right here at home, added to the company official.
