Marvel SNAP’s Pool Three, also known as Series Three, has always been home to controversies. F2P players believe that the devs focus only on Series Four and Five cards—the primary moneymakers—and neglect dropping valuable cards to lower pools. Luckily, toward the end of 2024, Marvel SNAP developers promised to fix the game’s “unfair” card acquisition system so that free-to-play fans can have a share in the metagame, too.

Marvel Snap: Best Pool 2 Decks

Marvel SNAP’s Pool Two decks can be the make or break point for beginner players, and here are the ones you must build for yourself asap.

Despite all the controversies, SNAP’s Series Three remains the most critical card pool. Most meta decks rely on cards from this category, and if you’re lucky to have its key characters, you can easily build competitive decklists. With this in mind, we have prepared five meta-friendly Pool Three decks (from prominent archetypes) to help you climb the leaderboard as an F2P player.

Updated on January 31, 2025, by Mohsen Baqery: As Marvel SNAP has kicked off 2025 with a serious commitment to fixing the game’s imbalanced card releases, we wanted to update this guide to include the most consistent decks using only Pool One to Three cards. We assume a lot of players will return to the game once the promised improvements hit the game and the recent compensation bundle for SNAP’s ban is delivered. So, this guide will be a great starting point for these returning players. All they will need is one of the following lineups to earn their reputation back and hit Infinite.

    Marvel SNAP Series Three, Explained

In SNAP, cards are categorized into five primary pools. Pool Three (or Series Three) becomes accessible once the player reaches Collection Level 486. New releases often join SNAP as Series Four and Five cards but later drop to Pool Three so that F2P players can unlock them, too.

Marvel SNAP’s Series Three is the most important card pool, as it marks the cap for free-to-play players. Since Series Four and Five cards are much more expensive and rare, most players base their decks on Pool Three cards—often building around one or two rare cards.

    Series Three Tier List

Based on their current performance in Marvel SNAP’s metagame, the following cards are considered mid- to top-tier:

    Tier

    Cards

    S

Silver Surfer, Devil Dino, Patriot, Sera, Doctor Doom

    A

Spectrum, Onslaught, Wave, Absorbing Man, Brood

    B

    3

    Nakia

    3

    3

    Sera

    5

    4

    Key Synergies of the Deck

    • Silver Surfer and Sebastian: Surfer’s board-wide buffs help Sebastian Shaw grow into a win condition.
    • Silver Surfer and Absorbing Man: Playing the two cards back-to-back doubles the buff.
    • Killmonger and Nova: Playing the duo can buff the board and disrupt the enemy’s strategy (by destroying their one-Cost cards).

How to Play the Surfer Sera Deck

    1. Fill the board with three-Cost cards. Brood is a key drop in this phase as it fills the location with two additional three-Costs.
    2. Play Silver Surfer. He will give all three-Costs on the board +2 Power.
    3. Follow up with Absorbing Man. He can copy Surfer’s ability, buffing the board once more.

Surfer’s straightforward strategy is why it’s ideal for beginners. However, this basic strategy works if you draw the right cards at the right time—which is not always the case.

If you’re draws aren’t perfect, utilize these play lines:

    • Buff Wolfsbane by playing into its lane. This will buff Sebastian Shaw.
    • Play Absorbing Man after Wolfsbane. This way, you will have another buff provider for Shaw.

Best for Ongoing: Ultra Patriot Deck

    2

    Onslaught

    6

    7

    Mysterio

    2

    4

    Key Synergies of the Deck

    • Ultron and Patriot: Played strategically, Ultron can fill all empty board slots with bots that Patriot can buff.
    • Patriot and Onslaught: If you play this duo in the same lane, you will double the buff.
    • Mystique and Patriot: When Mystique follows Patriot, she can copy his text and double the buff.
    • Brood and Mysterio: These two cards provide decoys that you can buff with Patriot.

How to Play the Ultra Patriot Deck

    1. Fill two lanes with decoys. Play Brood and Mysterio to achieve this. (You can fill up the empty slots later with Ultron.)
    2. Use the other lane as your buff center. Drop the Patriot and Onslaught (with Mystique or Absorbing Man when possible) there.

If you don’t want your enemy to predict your moves, try to be more secretive with where you’ll drop your buffers.

Here’s how you can exploit the other cards in the deck:

    • Use Bast to compensate for The Hood’s negative Power.
    • Drop Cosmo in your Ongoing buff lane (where you’ll play Patriot and Onslaught). She can protect you from most counterattacks.
    • Play Blue Marvel or Dazzler if your secondary buff strategies are interrupted.

    7

    Giganto

    6

    14

    The Infinaut

    6

    20

    Key Synergies of the Deck

    • Discarders and big cards: You want to get rid of cards like The Infinaut so that you can resurrect them with Hela or Ghost Rider.
    • Dracula and The Infinaut: If you play your hand in a way that Dracula can target The Infinaut, you’ll have a cheap 20-Power on the board.
    • Apocalypse and discarders: The more you discard Apocalypse, the stronger it becomes.

How to Play the Infinite Apocalypse Deck

    1. Use discard cards to remove big drops (Giganto and The Infinaut) from your hand.
    2. Try to buff Apocalypse by discarding it multiple times.
    3. Play Hela so she brings back your discarded cards.
    4. Use Morbius as your discard beneficiary. He grows stronger the more you discard cards.
    5. Try to use the Dracula-Infinaut synergy as a Plan B strategy. If you can’t resurrect The Infinaut on the board, try to have it discarded by Dracula so he absorbs his Power.

Best for Toxic: Evolved Mobsters Deck

    8

    Abomination

    5

    9

    The Infinaut

    6

    20

    Key Synergies of the Deck

    • High-Evo and no-ability cards: At the start of the match, High Evolutionary sets free the hidden potentials of Wasp, Shocker, Cyclops, Abomination, and The Thing.
    • Hazmat and Luke Cage: The duo allows you to afflict all enemy cards with -1 Power with no negative consequences on your side.
    • Negative Power afflicters: Cards like High-Evo’s mob (Wasp, Cyclops, and The Thing), as well as Hazmat and Spider-Woman, deal critical damage to enemies.
    • Abomination and afflicters: The negative Power you impose on each enemy card will discount Abomination, turning it into a free or cheap high-Power drop.

How to Play the Evolved Monsters Deck

    1. Snipe enemy cards with damage dealers.
    2. Once their side of the board has many cards, drop Hazmat into Luke Cage.
    3. Use Green Goblin to clog lanes and prevent counterattacks.
    4. Distribute Power to your side utilizing Abomination and The Infinaut. (By this point, Abomination is essentially a free card, and you can play it simultaneously with SNAP’s strongest card, The Infinaut.)

    Best for Cubes: Devil’s Collector

    2

    Armor

    2

    3

    Taskmaster

    6

    0

    Key Synergies of the Deck

    • Devil Dino, The Collector, Moon Girl: You want this trio to build up the primary powerhouses. When The Collector is on the board, Devil Dino is in hand, and Moon Girl is played, you essentially buff both cards (Dino and Collector).
    • Taskmaster and Devil Dino: Ideally, you want Taskmaster to drop right after Devil Dino so it absorbs and distributes Power.
    • Dino and Mystique: If you can’t hit Dino with Taskmaster, you can always copy its text with Mystique, creating yourself a three-Cost Dino with the same Power.

How to Play the Devil’s Collector Deck

    1. Try to get The Collector down as soon as possible.
    2. Start generating and stealing cards to grow your hand.
    3. Play some stolen or generated cards as decoys to distract your opponent.
    4. Once your hand is full, play Devil Dinosaur.
    5. Try to follow up with Mystique or Taskmaster to copy the Power elsewhere.
    6. Don’t forget to protect your main lane with Armor, as Dino is an easy target for Shang-Chi.
