Motorola has confirmed its latest premium smartphone, the Edge 70 Max, will launch in India on July 15. It’s the fifth phone in the Edge 70 lineup, following the Edge 70, Edge 70 Fusion, Edge 70 Pro, and Edge 70 Pro+, and it marks a real design shift for the series.
Instead of the curved screens found on earlier Edge 70 models, the Max adopts a flat-frame aesthetic with noticeably thinner display bezels, giving it a more squared-off, premium look compared to its siblings.
Key Specifications Revealed So Far
Official promotional teasers have confirmed a few core performance and display details ahead of the full launch:
- Chipset: The phone runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 mobile platform, putting it firmly in flagship territory and setting it apart from the Edge 70 Pro+, which uses a MediaTek chip instead. This positions the Max as Motorola’s most performance-focused Edge phone yet, aimed at users who care about high-end processing power and efficiency alongside everyday use.
- Display: It features a Quad HD+ display capable of reaching a peak brightness of up to 7000 nits, a figure aimed squarely at improving visibility when you’re outdoors in direct sunlight, one of the more common complaints with lower-brightness panels.
- Charging and Battery: The Edge 70 Max introduces magnetic wireless charging support, a genuine first for this design generation and a meaningful shift in how the brand is approaching charging convenience. Industry leaks also point toward a high-capacity battery built to keep pace with the more power-hungry flagship chipset and brighter display.
Design and Colour Options
Official teaser graphics have shown off the phone across multiple color options, including a light blue and a sage green finish, both leaning into a softer, more understated aesthetic compared to typical flagship colourways.
On the back, the design centers around a prominent, square-shaped triple-camera module mounted on a flat backplate, continuing the flat-design theme carried through from the front.

Once it launches, the Motorola Edge 70 Max will be available through Flipkart, Motorola’s official website, and leading retail outlets across the country, giving buyers a mix of online and offline options from day one.
