After a long wait, the One Piece anime finally released a new episode that explored the truth behind the attack of the Revolutionary Army. Fans learned about the major incidents that took place in Marijoa many, many chapters ago. However, they were not given enough details.
That finally changed in One Piece Episode 1117 as Sabo sat down with Monkey D. Dragon and Ivankov. The latter was surprised by Sabo’s request to leave out all the other commanders. But Sabo had already made up his mind, and he didn’t want to endanger their lives, which is why he discussed it with the top brass.
The Three Goals Of The Revolutionary Army
The Revolutionary Army Meant Business
For a long time, fans were led to believe that the Revolutionary Army just wanted to free Bartholomew Kuma from the clutches of the Celestial Dragons. In Episode 1117, Sabo stated that the Revolutionary Army had three goals:
- Destroying the symbol of the Celestial Dragons
- Freeing Bartholomew Kuma and the other slaves
- Destroying the food supplies in Marijoa
The destruction of the Celestial Dragon’s symbol was the Revolutionary Army’s official declaration of war against them. The Revolutionary Army was fond of Kuma, so they decided to rescue him and any other slaves that they could. Finally, the demolition of the food supplies meant that the Celestial Dragons in Marijoa would be left to starve. The Revolutionary Army capitalized on this situation by stopping cargo ships from reaching Marijoa. While the Holy Land is in a strategic place, it also means that reaching it is hard, even for allies.
Overall, the actions of the Revolutionary Army caused a stir around the world. The citizens of 12 countries rebelled against their oppressors, and eight of them were successful in their mission. The Lulusia Kingdom was among them, but it mysteriously vanished. As the episode progressed, Ivankov finally asked Sabo about the truth behind Nefertari Cobra’s murder.
What Happened In The Holy Land
The Revolutionary Army Caused Chaos
The Revolutionary Army attacked Marijoa during the Reverie, which was a bold move in itself. At the time, kings and queens from all over the world had gathered, so security was at its highest. Sabo was accompanied by Lindbergh, Morley, and Karasu for this particular mission. All four of them were elite fighters, so it was rather obvious that the Revolutionary Army wasn’t holding back. Their first course of action was to attack the storehouses in Marijoa.
Destroying the stores would cause a shortage of food for the Celestial Dragons, and if they couldn’t get supplies quickly, they would all perish. After destroying the storehouses, the Revolutionary Army turned its attention towards the slaves. The Celestial Dragons are sick and sordid individuals who take great pride in treating regular people like insects. They capture people and use them as a means of entertainment. The Revolutionary Army knew about their activities, so they made it a point to save as many slaves as they could.
The Admirals Enter The Picture
Fujitora And Ryokugyu Wasted No Time In Attacking The Culprits
However, it didn’t take long for the Admirals to join the fray and try to stop the Revolutionaries. Karasu was engaged in a fierce battle with Fujitora. Both of them knew that the other person was strong, so they could not hold back. Meanwhile, Ryokugyu caught Morley and stopped the latter from causing any harm to the Celestial Dragons.
Elsewhere, Sabo was inside the castle looking for keys to the slaves’ collars. Without the key, it would be impossible to rescue Kuma and the others. As fans might recall, the Celestial Dragons put exploding collars on slaves to prevent them from running away. If they try to do something similar, the collar would explode and kill them instantly.
Stand back. This won’t take long. — Nefertari Cobra
Towards the end of Episode 1117, Nefertari Cobra could be seen escorted to the room of the Five Elders. A normal person would have never gotten the chance to meet them, but the Five Elders made an exception because Cobra was an influential king.
One Piece Episode 1118 Release Date
One Piece Episode 1118 will be released on September 8, 2024. It is titled “The Holy Land in Tumult! Sai and Leo’s Full-Power Blow!.” The episode will focus on two things. The first being the conversation between Nefertari Cobra and the Five Elders. Cobra would never hold talks with the Five Elders unless it was about something very important. He likely wants to find answers to his questions.
Aside from Cobra and the Five Elders, One Piece Episode 1118 will give screen time to Imu, who is arguably the most mysterious character in the series. From the looks of it, Imu might actually talk for the first time. This is a huge deal as the voice could potentially confirm Imu’s gender, which has become a big moot point within the One Piece community. So, the next episode of One Piece will be monumental.
Fans will also get the opportunity to see Sai and Leo, two captains from the Straw Hat Grand Fleet, in action. They are probably going to fight the Celestial Dragons, who are trying to harm Shirahoshi. Their first attempt failed, thanks to the efforts of Donquixote Mjosgard. But Celestial Dragons are known for their persistence. Thankfully, this time, the two pirate captains will step in to help Shirahoshi.
