This post contains spoilers for One Piece.
Before going on a break, the One Piece anime brought an end to the Egghead arc. It was exciting and emotional at the same time. The anime introduced the genius Dr. Vegapunk and his satellites, and it didn’t take long for fans to open up to them. The Five Elders were involved in the Egghead arc, which increased the tension even further, especially since they had never demonstrated their powers publicly in One Piece before.
One Piece: Kid And Law’s Next Role In The Final Saga, Explained
Kid and Law will have a crucial role to play in One Piece’s Final Saga.
The combined strength of the Five Elders was so overwhelming that they nearly wiped out every single individual on the island. The Straw Hats would have suffered as well, but luckily, they had Emet and the giants on their side. With their help, the heroes were able to rescue Lilith, get off the island safely, and begin their journey to Elbaf.
One Piece Episode 1156 Release Date
- One Piece Episode 1156 will air on April 5
- It marks the beginning of the Elbaf arc
One Piece Episode 1156 will be released on April 5, 2026. The episode is titled, “The Long-Sought Elbaph! The Big Reunion Banquet.” This particular episode will be rather special as it marks the beginning of a new era for the One Piece anime. For years, the One Piece anime had been adhering to a weekly format, but in 2025, it was announced that the series would become seasonal.
“I’m Luffy. I’m the man who will be the King of the Pirates.”
The decision came as a shock to the majority of the fan base, as they weren’t expecting One Piece to change. But with time, they came around to the decision because they knew it would be beneficial to the series.
One Piece Episode 1156 will focus on the Straw Hat Pirates as they make their way to Elbaf, the land of giants. Fans have been itching to see Elbaf for years, and now their prayers have been answered. Among the Straw Hats, Nico Robin and Usopp will be looking forward to reaching Elbaf the most. For Nico Robin, getting to Elbaf means seeing Jaguar D. Saul, the man who sacrifices his life to save hers. She had presumed that Saul had died during the Buster Call on Ohara. However, in the Egghead arc, Vegapunk revealed that Saul was alive.

As the Straw Hats reach Elbaf, Robin will be able to reunite with Saul. For Usopp, it’s a case of going to Dorry and Brogy’s homeland. Ever since Usopp met them in Little Garden, he has been mesmerized by their spirit, which is why he has been desperate to see Elbaf.
However, it is unlikely that either of these two things will happen in One Piece Episode 1156. So, fans will have to be patient.
One Piece Will Only Release 26 Episodes
Fans will do well to remember that the One Piece anime will only release 26 episodes every year. Additionally, they will air in two cours, meaning each will have 13 episodes. Once the quota is met, the anime will go on break once again, and it will return in 2027.
It would be remiss not to mention that the anime will cover 1 chapter of the manga in a single episode. The pace is not ideal, but it’s a lot better than what Toei Animation had opted for in the past. Given the current pace, the Elbaf arc will likely end in 2027.
But since the arc is still ongoing in the manga, it’s entirely possible that anime fans might have to wait even longer for Elbaf to reach its climax.
One Piece Episode 1156 will have a new opening and ending. The opening is ‘Luminous,’ and it will be performed by AiNA THE END. Meanwhile, the ending will be ‘That Future’ by Jisoku 36km. Considering the anime is returning after such a long time, it makes sense to have new songs.
Where To Watch One Piece Episode 1156
One Piece Episode 1156 will be available to stream on Crunchyroll and Netflix. It will have Japanese audio and English subtitles. Viewers can also change the language of the subtitles. The dubbed version of the episode will not be available on April 5th, 2026. So, those who prefer that particular version will have to wait longer.
