The OnePlus 15 is still early in its life cycle, but early details about its successor are already starting to surface. A new leak suggests that the next flagship, expected to be called the OnePlus 16, could bring a notable change to its camera hardware.
According to tipster Digital Chat Station, OnePlus is testing a 200-megapixel camera sensor for the OnePlus 16. The leak also claims the device may share its main and telephoto camera hardware with the upcoming Oppo Find N6.
OnePlus 16 May Share Imaging Hardware With Oppo
If the information is accurate, the OnePlus 16 could adopt a similar camera setup to the Oppo Find N6. That phone has been tipped to feature a triple rear camera system, combining multiple 50MP sensors with a 200MP unit.
This approach would follow a familiar pattern. The OnePlus 15 and Oppo Find N5 already shared key camera components, including 50MP main and telephoto sensors. The difference this time would be the move to a much higher-resolution sensor.
Shift From The OnePlus 15 Camera Setup
The OnePlus 15 (review) launched with a triple 50MP rear camera system. While the megapixel count stayed consistent across lenses, the hardware itself differed from earlier models.
A switch to a 200MP sensor on the OnePlus 16 would indicate a clear change in direction for OnePlus, at least in terms of camera hardware strategy.
Display Experiments Also Tipped
Separately, earlier leaks have suggested that OnePlus could be experimenting with a very high refresh rate display for a future flagship, potentially reaching 240Hz. It’s not yet clear whether this feature would make it to the final version of the OnePlus 16.
Launch Timeline
The OnePlus 16 is currently tipped to launch around October 2026. With more than a year to go, details are still subject to change, and more leaks are likely to emerge over time.
