Earlier this month, a new report emerged that OPPO is preparing to launch the Reno 16 series in India this July. While the Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro have already debuted in China, a new leak from tipster Sudhanshu, obtained via 91mobiles, has now revealed the specifications and design renders of the global variants. The lineup is also expected to include a new Reno 16 FS model, which could serve as the most affordable option in the series.
The leak suggests that OPPO may adopt a different strategy for global markets compared to China, particularly with the Reno 16 Pro. If the details are accurate, the company is set to introduce larger batteries, upgraded camera hardware, and extended software support across the Reno 16 lineup.

OPPO Reno 16 Series Launch Timeline and Software Details
The OPPO Reno 16 series is reportedly scheduled to launch globally, including in India, sometime in July. While OPPO has yet to officially confirm the launch date, the latest leak indicates that all three models-the Reno 16 Pro, Reno 16, and Reno 16 FS-will ship with Android 16-based ColorOS 16.1 out of the box.
OPPO is also tipped to offer five major Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates, putting the Reno 16 series in line with some of the longest software support policies in the segment. The new lineup is also expected to bring larger battery capacities compared to the Reno 15 series.
OPPO Reno 16 Pro Specifications
The Reno 16 Pro is tipped to feature a compact 6.32-inch LTPS AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, and Gorilla Glass 7i protection. Interestingly, this is significantly smaller than the 6.78-inch panel found on the Chinese variant.
Under the hood, the device is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8550 chipset, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The camera setup could include a 200MP primary sensor with OIS, a 50MP telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom and OIS, and a 50MP ultra-wide lens. Selfies are expected to be handled by a 50MP front camera.
Other reported features include a 6,700mAh battery with 80W SuperVOOC charging, an aluminium frame, stereo speakers, NFC, and an IP69 rating.

OPPO Reno 16 and Reno 16 FS Specifications
The standard Reno 16 is expected to retain the same 6.32-inch 1.5K AMOLED display but with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is tipped to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset alongside a 6,000mAh battery with 80W charging support.
For photography, the device could offer a 50MP primary camera, a 50MP telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultra-wide sensor. A 50MP selfie camera is also expected. Like the Pro model, it is tipped to feature an aluminium frame, stereo speakers, NFC, and IP69 protection.
The Reno 16 FS is said to feature a larger 6.57-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It may be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset and pack a 6,500mAh battery with 45W SuperVOOC charging.
Its camera setup is expected to include a 50MP primary sensor with OIS, a 50MP telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultra-wide lens, alongside a 50MP selfie camera. While it reportedly uses a plastic frame, it is still expected to retain features such as stereo speakers, NFC, and IP69-rated durability.
With a July launch reportedly on the cards, pricing will play a crucial role in determining how the Reno 16 series competes against rivals in the premium mid-range smartphone segment.
