Through Sacred Ground is an optional mission in Path of Exile where players have to find a “Golden Hand” at the behest of Yeena, a quest giver NPC in The Forest Encampment, encountered during Act 2. Completing this mission is a bit trickier than most, since the quest objective does not specify where to find the Golden Hand or even where to begin looking for it.

How to Start Through Sacred Ground in Path of Exile

To start Through Sacred Ground, you will first have to complete the following two missions in Path of Exile’s Act 2:

After these two side quests have been completed, a new quest marker will appear above Yeena’s head in the Forest Encampment, and players can talk to her to trigger Through Sacred Ground.

Where to Find the Golden Hand
Yeena will ask players to find “the hand of a good man” with the quest objective stating “Find the Golden Hand.” The Golden Hand is found in The Crypt (Level 2), which is located north of The Forest Encampment, south of The Crossroads.
Here is the route you need to take in order to get to The Crypt:
- The Forest Encampment -> The Oil Fields -> The Crossroads -> The Fellshrine Ruins -> The Crypt -> The Crypt Level 2.
In The Crypt Level 2, keep exploring the area and eventually a quest marker will show up on the map overlay when players are near the Golden Hand’s location (shown below).
The “Golden Hand” is hidden inside a large white altar and will drop to the ground when players interact with it.
Press Alt to highlight the altar if you cannot see the action prompt.
Pick up the Golden Hand when it drops and bring it back to Yeena in The Forest Encampment by using a Portal Scroll. Yeena will reward you with a “Book of Skill,” which grants one Passive Skill Point and two Passive Respec Points for players to use.
As a quest item, the Golden Hand cannot be sold, traded away, or deposited in stash. It will remain in your inventory until you complete the mission.
