Philips first teased its plans to launch smartphones in India in October 2025, but the brand has remained relatively quiet on the smartphone front since then. Now, Philips appears to be gearing up for its India debut, with a dedicated smartphone microsite going live on Amazon India.
The microsite confirms that Philips smartphones are coming to India soon and reveals key details about the upcoming Philips S7221. While the company has yet to announce its launch date or pricing, the revealed specifications suggest that the phone will target the competitive budget and mid-range smartphone segment.
Philips Smartphone Specifications Revealed
The Philips S7221 will feature a 6.67-inch HD display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The higher refresh rate should offer smoother scrolling and animations compared to conventional 60Hz panels.
The smartphone will be available with 6GB and 8GB RAM options, paired with 128GB and 256GB storage. It will also support 5G connectivity, although Philips has not yet revealed details about the processor.
For photography, the Philips S7221 will feature a 64MP AI rear camera and a 16MP front camera. The rear camera setup is housed inside a rectangular module with two vertically aligned sensors and a circular LED flash.
The upcoming Philips smartphone will feature dual stereo speakers with “Ultra Max” sound. It also carries an IP64 rating, offering protection against dust and water splashes.
The phone has a flat display with a centrally positioned punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. It also appears to feature flat side frames. The Amazon listing showcases the device in Silver, White and Black colour options.
Philips Smartphone India Price and Availability
Philips has not confirmed the S7221 India price or launch date yet. However, the live Amazon India microsite includes a Notify Me option, confirming that the smartphone will be sold through the e-commerce platform.
Based on its revealed specifications, the Philips S7221 could target the sub-₹20,000 smartphone segment. More details about its processor, battery, charging capabilities, pricing and availability are expected ahead of the launch.
