Pixel 10 Pro vs iPhone 17 Pro: Google’s Latest Ad Campaign Mocking Apple’s iOS Features

Google’s latest advertisement, part of the Best Phones Forever campaign, takes a playful jab at Apple’s iOS 26. The ad suggests that Apple’s Call Screening and AI photo editing features were “inspired” by Google’s innovations. In the video, the Google Pixel 10 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro engage in a conversation, eventually breaking into song. The iPhone acknowledges that it “changed for good” due to the influence of the Pixel.

Interestingly, this isn’t Google’s first playful critique of Apple. In September, they released a YouTube video titled Generation Gap. This ad depicted an iPhone asking a Pixel 10 Pro about teaching chickens to sing. The Pixel responded humorously, attributing the feat to Google’s Gemini AI. Such ads highlight Google’s ongoing playful rivalry with Apple.

Google’s Ad Campaign Touts Pixel Phone Features

The recent ad draws inspiration from the movie Wicked: For Good, featuring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande. In this parody, the Google Pixel 10 Pro is portrayed as a witch, akin to Erivo’s character in the film. Meanwhile, the iPhone 17 Pro takes on the role of a fairy, reminiscent of Grande’s portrayal in the live-action adaptation.

In June, another ad titled “Responding to MORE Rumors” was released under the same campaign. It humorously suggested that Apple has been mimicking Google’s features for years. A notable example cited was Apple’s Live Translation for Text Messages feature, which Google claims to have introduced four years earlier.

Playful Rivalry Continues

Currently, Google’s Best Phones Forever playlist on YouTube boasts around 32 videos, including several YouTube Shorts. These videos continue to showcase Google’s playful rivalry with Apple while highlighting unique features of their Pixel phones.

The ad posted on Wednesday further emphasizes this theme by showing a dialogue between Apple’s new iPhone 17 Pro and Google’s Pixel 10 Pro. Here, Apple’s flagship model thanks its counterpart for inspiring features like call screening and an AI-powered voice assistant capable of “real conversations.”

“However,” as noted earlier, “this is not the first time that the Mountain View-based company has taken aim at Apple.” Such campaigns are part of Google’s strategy to highlight its technological advancements while playfully critiquing its competitor.

The ongoing series of ads underscores how Google positions itself against Apple in terms of innovation and feature introduction. By humorously pointing out similarities between their offerings and those of Apple, Google aims to capture consumer attention while promoting its own products.
