Tecno has officially announced the Pova 8 Pro, its latest performance-focused smartphone aimed at gamers and power users. The Pova 8 Pro follows the recent launch of the vanilla Pova 8.
The handset combines a high-refresh-rate AMOLED display with a MediaTek Dimensity chipset, dedicated gaming hardware, a large battery and a distinctive rear design.

Pova 8 Pro India Launch
The Pova 8 Pro will make its India debut on August 18, with pricing details expected to be announced at the launch. We expect the Pova 8 Pro price in India to fall in and around the Rs 40,000-mark.,
It will be available in Arc White, Graphite Black and Tundra Green colour options, alongside a special Tonino Lamborghini Limited Edition. The handset also carries IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K protection ratings.
Pova 8 Pro Specifications
The Pova 8 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate chipset and will be offered with 8GB and 12GB RAM options, with storage going up to 512GB. Tecno has also added a dedicated P1 Graphic Chip designed to improve gaming performance through frame interpolation.
The company claims the chip can enable up to 144FPS gaming, while demanding RPG titles can run at up to 90FPS. A large 5,000 sq mm vapour chamber is included to manage heat during extended gaming sessions.
The smartphone features a 6.78-inch HyperLux AMOLED display with a 2,644 x 1,208-pixel resolution and 144Hz refresh rate. The panel reaches up to 4,500 nits peak brightness and supports up to 2,800Hz instantaneous touch sampling. It also uses Gorilla Glass 7i protection and can recognise touch input even when the user’s fingers are wet or oily.

Alive Matrix Display and Cameras
One of the Pova 8 Pro’s biggest design highlights is the Alive Matrix Display, a customisable secondary LED screen integrated into the rear camera module. The handset features an Interstellar Spaceship-inspired design around the camera area.
For photography, the phone gets a 50-megapixel Sony LYTIA 700C primary camera with OIS, paired with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. A 13-megapixel camera is placed on the front for selfies and video calls.
Battery, Software and Other Features
The Pova 8 Pro packs a 6,500mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging. It also supports all-scenario bypass charging, which routes power directly to the motherboard during gaming, along with 10W reverse wired charging.
The smartphone runs HiOS 16 based on Android 16 and will receive two major Android upgrades and three years of security updates. Other features include Ella AI, Tecno AI tools, 256GB complimentary cloud storage, dual Dolby Atmos speakers, 4D vibration and an IR blaster.
