Realme appears to be undergoing one of its biggest strategic overhauls in recent years. Following the company’s decision to halt new smartphone launches in China, a fresh leak suggests that the Realme GT 9 and Realme Neo 9 series may no longer be in the pipeline. Instead, the brand is expected to prioritize its numbered smartphone lineup for international markets while doubling down on gaming and performance-focused devices.

Realme GT 9, Neo 9 Series Reportedly Cancelled

Existing inventory is reportedly expected to last until around November, after which the company could completely wind down its smartphone operations in the country.

If the leak is accurate, Realme is unlikely to launch the Realme GT 9 or Realme Neo 9 series in China this year.

The development follows Realme’s recent announcement that it is pausing new product launches in China to focus on overseas markets, where it sees stronger long-term growth opportunities.

Realme to Prioritise Numbered Series Globally

The tipster further claims that Realme’s global smartphone portfolio will look very different from its previous China-first strategy.

Rather than introducing new GT and Neo series smartphones internationally, the company is expected to expand its numbered series, making it the primary lineup across several global markets.

Realme is also said to be narrowing its international product portfolio to smartphones and audio devices. While tablets and laptops are reportedly no longer part of the immediate roadmap, the company is said to be evaluating the launch of a gaming-focused tablet for overseas markets.

The same leak also reveals that OnePlus has no plans to collaborate with Ricoh on smartphone camera technology.

Instead, the Oppo-owned brand will continue focusing on gaming performance and flagship hardware. This aligns with recent reports suggesting the upcoming OnePlus 16 could feature a 185Hz display, a larger battery, and Qualcomm’s next-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset.

The reported specifications indicate that OnePlus intends to compete primarily on raw performance rather than camera partnerships.

Oppo’s Software Integration Continues

The latest developments also align with Oppo’s broader ecosystem strategy.

The company recently confirmed that eligible OnePlus and Realme smartphones will eventually transition to the latest version of ColorOS, further unifying software across Oppo’s smartphone brands.
