    • Genesis GV60 facelift brings interior and exterior design tweaks that make it look sportier and more premium.
    • Genesis will likely give the revised GV60 the same 84 kWh battery pack that’s already in its sister models from Kia and Hyundai.
    • Pricing and availability will be announced later this year and the range could feature a production version of the GV60 Magma concept.

Genesis has revealed a refreshed version of its GV60 electric crossover, which debuted in October 2021. It has updated exterior styling, which incorporates some elements from newer Genesis models, but the biggest visual change is inside the car, where a single huge display replaces the old version’s dual-screen array, and it completely transforms the look of the interior.

Gone are the two 12.3-inch displays (one for the driver and one for infotainment), and in their place is an ultra-wide 27-inch screen. Having one seamless display (with smaller bezels than before) stretching from in front of the driver all the way to the middle of the dashboard makes an already quite fancy-looking interior feel even more upmarket.

This larger screen debuted in the facelifted GV70 along with a new-design three-spoke steering wheel also present in the revised GV60.

Exterior changes are more subtle, but the revised front bumper with its reshaped grille makes the GV60 appear sportier and more aggressive. The rear bumper loses the jarring silver trim on the lower part and now has the same color as the rest of the body, which helps give the entire car a more cohesive and premium look.

The plastic trim pieces around the wheel arches, which were bare plastic before, are now body-colored. This detracts some ruggedness points, but the combined effect of the exterior changes is pretty significant, especially when combined with the new-design five-spoke 21-inch aero wheels that look sportier than what the pre-facelift car had.

Genesis hasn’t announced any technical changes, but the refreshed GV60 will likely feature a larger battery pack like its mainstream sister models, the Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5. When they received their mid-lifecycle update, their battery capacity was increased from 77 kilowatt-hours to 84 kWh. This should yield around a dozen extra miles of EPA range.

While the Kia and Hyundai have hot versions with 576 and 641 hp, respectively, the current top performer in the GV60 lineup only has 429 hp (or up to 483 hp with a temporary boost function). However, this will likely change with the refreshed model, which will likely get a production version of the GV60 Magma concept.

The hot GV60 features not only more power (likely topping the Hyundai) but also an extensive sporty exterior and interior makeover, as well as potentially the same fake engine noise and shifting introduced by the Ioniq 5 N, which the revised version of the Kia EV6 GT will also adopt.

The revised Genesis GV60 will first go on sale in its native South Korea, where details regarding its trim structure and pricing will be announced sometime in Q1. It has also been confirmed to arrive in Australia in Q3, but its arrival in the U.S. and other markets hasn’t been announced yet. The GV60 currently costs between $53,800 and $71,350, and the upcoming Magma model could push the price closer to $80,000.
